I want to mix my own base soil rather then buy 10 bags of roots organic!
I wana buy compost and RED worm castings from a local organic compost provider here in San Diego.
I'm thinking 1 part peat moss, 1 part perlite, 1 part compost, but i also want to add other fertilizer in there too.
So if i wana add in some worm castings, blood meal, and bone meal do i add it in like i would the compost? (example 1 part peat moss, 1 part perlite, 1 part blood meal?
Last but not least i want a few trace minerals in there but not sure what to use and to what extent. (I know lime but other things like kelp meal?)
NOTE: I'd love to also use this base soil to transplant my seedlings into once there big enough. So hopefully it won't be to hot but also will have enough to keep them healthy.
I will eventually use this base soil to make Subcool's supersoil and then fill a 10 gallon pot with half supersoil and half homemade base soil. Thats why i want the base soil to have a good amount of nutrients but not to much.
If you can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it!!
