I'm following subcools soil recipe. The only difference will be that I have to use pro mix bx soil with myco as a base. I have an enormous supply of chicken litter and cow manure, both composted and fresh. I would like to add some chicken litter and cow manure into the mix as well. However, I'm unsure of how much to use. I know sub suggests humic acid, what about some fulvic acid? I'll also be adding 15-30 gallons of bio-char into the mix. Any suggestions, advice, or help is appreciated.

Ok, I'll be following the recipe, but I have to use pro mix w myco as a base, just no way around that. I still want to add a bit of composted chicken litter and cow manure though, don't see how it could hurt. Are any of you organic growers familiar with bio char aka tera preta?

I read the whole thread on supersoil and sub says in one post to Not use chicken litter, he gave a specific reason and I don't remember what it was, but your not gonna listen anyways, so i'm not going to dig it up for you.

I said I was following the recipe. just because i want to add the litter and manure doesnt mean i am going to, i am not going to. I would like to see the article about not using chicken litter though, I enjoy learning, and I continue to learn as much as i can. I still would like to know what you organic farmers think about bio char / tera preta, I havent found much info about it on this site.

Again... I'm not doing it... This is why I thought that a broader spectrum of additives was better. However, I've also noticed that he changed his recipe more recently and it doesn't contain as many additives as the old one.

Thanks Sub. That litter can definitely be very hot stuff. By the way, I really like your recipe and I'm looking forward to using it. Your revised recipe doesn't call for rock phosphate, I'm guessing that the azomite contains enough trace elements and there is already enough phosphate in the mix w/out the rock phosphate.
