Has any one ever tried to use coffee grounds/ coffee for a odor eliminator. heres my deal im broke as fuck and my house is smelling like a greatfull dead concert. me i dont mind but the wife is having fits. and i cant get anything to make a filter. so far i have 10 air freashners in the house. one in a device hooked into my ventalation of the grow room, with a air freashner in side.

but what i was thinking is to make a air scrubber design with some pantie hose and some vent pipe. stuff i have laying around. any one got any ideas if this may work. untill i can get some cash i a week or so..

I doubt it will help.

Spend your time and energy on a good scrubbing solution. Some have had success with DIY scrubbers. Do a quick search here and you may get some ideas with stuff you have lying around.

yeah i had already thought about that, and i had to spend my last 5 on gas in the car, so i cant get a pound of carbon to make the scrubber. im just looking for something to last maybe a week.. till the loot comes in..

you can try a dryer sheet or 2 (fabric softener) taped to an end of your vent.
replace them every day or so.. that may work.

i already have two gel pods in a sealed box with venting on each side, basicly the only vent going out of the room picks up the air freashner smell. but the ladys are getting to strong for the cover up method.. but i might just have to try it.. bad thing is it doesnt smell next to my room it smells up stairs....

It might work but idk as I haven't tried it although you are probably not the first one to ask this as I am sure someone has to have asked this.

i ended up bumming some cash from a friend. and ended up making a diy scrubber, and i think im screwing up or something because this thing is almost worse than it was before. now i could be incorrectly using it so before i make to harsh of judgement. i just have this running in the grow room not hooked up to any venting to the out side , my grow guy said that with a air scrubber that you can run it in the room and vent into the room and it should scrub the air . making the air inside the room nuetral smelling so there fore making the rest of the house non smelly also... but i dont know how this one is suppose to work. any words of advise would be great

Your scrubber should be the last thing your smelly ass air comes in contact with before leaving your enclosure(or as close to it as possible), or at least have it directly hooked up to your exhaust ducting

is your fan strong enough to use your scrubber properly?? Or did you go diy?

when i upgraded my fan as dumb as it sounds my filter worked more efficiently, I would have thought pulling more air through it would have made it less effective but that wasn't the case.

ok scubbing the air is only effective if u have a controlled path way ...........from the sound of things u need a air polisher or a ozone/ion set up

here is both
ozone/ion ......for u living in the room/area/house ..........for u if u leave the house for 4 hours u turn this on and kills all smells(this one is not ment for u to stay in area while active very powerful)

air polisher ...............this is the strongest fan/carbon scrubber set up i know off(they are refillable once the carbon is no good u can empty it out and replace it ) this is exp but it is a investment u will save money come year 2 once u refill it ................it just cleans smell and dumps the air right back into the room

any of those 3 running in the room that is causing the smell will remove the oders...........if u go got the strong chep ozone gen again i am telling u to turn it on leave the house when u get back will smell like a thunder storm ...........the one with the remote is ment for ppl to be in there and would do fine

I would only suggest ozone when used inline to outdoor exhaust. To put ozone in your home is just not good for your lungs.

no worries snaps

the one i marked as living ......has several adjustments on it so he can controll the lvls .....and the maximum of that unit is fairly low 360mgs/h turned to all the way up he would have to sit in a 5x5 room for about 3 hours with that on high to do harm (that is a sealed room no in/out air flow)...........it is the new super updated one 5 lvls of cleaning ..........i got one in a 20x20x7 room that my tents are in

now the other one .........that is 4000mgs/h that will really fuck your ass up but it will also kill any smell in a large area ( it is ment for wet basements after the clean up to fix the air........that gets rid of that smell and some of the growers out there need to use it i had basement weed back in the day u know that taste of the air )

Your exhaust fan must push out more air than your input fan....
Otherwise you are pushing air out every orifice of your tent...
First your Exhaust NEEDS to be bigger more CFM's than you inflow...
Maybe add another exhaust fan...
Sounds to me like you have positive pressure pushing all your smell out every crevice and slit in your tent...
Seal it better, and more exhaust...
No more concert smell... it will be easy to fix...

Ok after reading the response. I've got some stuff to learn about venting... but what I got so far is...
That I should vent it to out side my room.. that my exhaust to be greater than my intake. The com of the fan might not be enough to properly scrub the air.
Now.. If I vent it to out side my room. I know my fan isn't the greatest I grabbed a pusher fan 6 inch it does like 150 to 210 cfm.. but it's all I could really afford.. my room is like 8 x10 x7... i have no intake fan at the moment.. do I wanna push threw the carbon filter or suck through it? And what other cheep methods can i use to help...

suck tho

the order is carbon filter ....ducting.....(light cooltube) ducting....fan ...ducting ....exhust point

a 6inch booster fan is 240 cfms .........6 inch inline fan is 400 cfms...................the 6 inch inline fan is your best choice since the 18 inch carbon filters are normally 400 cfms and a inline fan can use a speed controller to lower the CFM if u need too .............booster fans the speed controller does not work
