Hey fellas,so this is my first attempt ever at growing shroomis by myself,I followed mushroom videos dot com as an info base.
you cant get any kind of ball jars here so i used drinking glasses with foil on top.
so these are about 20 days old i think, and those two on the right looked the same 10 days ago,and the verm mixture in em turned darker for some reaseon.so was just wandering here,is there anything i can do about it ?
or just use those half colonized jars to inoculate another batch?can you do that?

and also i have this one cake that had like a million inoculation donts in it after two days and was fully colonized a week after inoculation..must've been the last squirt of the syringe, got all the juice there hah

Im having hard time maintaining the right RH in the FC I dont know if its not enough perlite (I've tried adding already, now I got a 7 Cm layer there) or not enough holes,or too many holes or it is my fucking hygrometer that is digital and tells me lies, any ways im trying to do what i can and mist this bitch a couple o times a day still, hoping to get some mushies out of it :S

Thanks a whole lot :)

A week from inoculation seems a bit too quick to me, all mine took about a month at room temps 65-70. Do you have the fruiting chamber raised? Holes on all sides? Try soaking all the perlite and spraying/fanning 2-4 times a day. Your stalled jars might be fighting off some type of bacteria or mold, do they smell sour at all? I would just give them more time if they dont smell bad.

Did you let the jar sit for a week after fully colonized?

Never ever ever "sniff" these things if you are not sure if your contamination status.

What you are capable of growing in your jar can be any number of aspergillis which might produce the strongest hepatocarcinogens ever discovered.

Or you could just give yourself pneumonia.

For real. I got pneumonia from not wearing my mask while harvesting oyster mushrooms.

I know a poor guy who wanted to save his old jars, be went out and dug the contamination out of them on his porch.

His immune system took a dive,be has vision problems and constant headaches.

It has been five years.

Please, everyone be careful. Figure that some of the strongest neurochemicals originate from fungus, lsd and psylocybin. You figure these little chemical warfare plants can't make hundreds of other very nasty items?

ive added some holes now,to the bottom and top,and also noticed this discoloring, looks like mold...-.-

Looks like stain and not contams, but until you are familiar, when in doubt toss it out.

Also, if you have an eye to growing again, try not to change the flora content of your home.

Reminds me of my tubs I tried to do, the day I came to the conclusion they were done for is when I sniffed them and smelt sour. Not too long after I felt very nauseous and dizzy, fairly sure it was from sniffing them . I wear a mask now when I check on them, makes me sick just thinking about that smell

It surely looks the mold had spread almost all over the cake. Looks like a reg green mold though, and im seeing fruitbodies now aswell so i thought ill try to do my best to fruit this bitch.just for the sake of seeing mushrooms! That shit really gets me exciting. But i also read that green mold is perfectly safe for us,the humanoid people.

If you're going to keep it around. Spray (mist) the cakes and the interior of the fruiting chamber with some hydrogen peroxide (H202). Clean the outside with some lysol and bleach.
