Stumped in Week 11- Buds Yellowing - Pics

I searched the forums as well as the web but have not had any luck finding a definitive situation like mine, so I want to be sure what is going on here because I have no idea.

I have pics below, basically the top of my plant started to harden and yellow on the top. It at least looks yellow in the HPS light, and I have not had a chance to take pics with it off yet.

The bud that is forming yellow is on the top of the cola and is hardening.

Please note that the light is not hot at all on the back of my hand while touching the glass even, and there doesn't appear to be any burnt leaf damage.

With all that said, I have never gotten this far in a grow always having to harvest prematurely due to some sort of issue, so perhaps this is completely normal and my buds are filling in? At least thats what I am hoping. ;) My signature has the whole grow journal also.

Thanks in advance, and sorry if there is another thread on this type of issue already. bongsmilie

that is a burnt bud. put a thermostat at that point for a few minutes. just because the glass doesnt burn your hand doesnt mean the air isnt hot. a jacuzzi is around 102 F, if the air around that bud is above 90 F (round abouts) thats no bueno.

OK I went ahead and raised the light. Will see if issue progresses. I think I caught it early enough. Thanks a lot!

Wow you can really tell the difference now! That's some weird looking shit. I agree that it is burnt though.

ive seen this too many times in coliseum grows. you want to cut that burnt bud away, its a time bomb for mold or rot. not the whole bud, just the burnt part.

I feel like a teenager because I don't want to take your advice, but instead wish for nothing to happen and leave the plant as it is.
Hah!
Thank god im not a teenager anymore though and know when to follow experienced advice ;)

Ugh...i suppose tomorrow night I will be cutting her.

Average humidity here is 25% right now, but I guess that wont matter since its burnt eh?

this is whats called light bleaching, it happens when the hps light is to close to the top of the plant, the plant cannot handle that much instensity coming from such a small area concentrated down like that on it, raise up the lights your hurting that plant and all the others by taking away theyre light and giving it to plants that cannot even use it and are actually killing it

Yeah already raised the light a couple days ago, thanks Big Cola! I like the word light bleaching, that is a good term for it and describes it better than just stating its burnt. Too much light...wow ....never thought I would see the day.

Thanks a mill for everyone's help. Light bleaching seemed to be the main problem. It has not progressed in nearly a week now and the bud still looks good to smoke bongsmilie
