Those channels are quite thin (12.2mm), i dont think you could even fit in a blux gen3 slim into that. Maybe on the backside.
You should really try to find a local alushop that will cut u-channel for you, if you find whoever sells to professional builders and the like youll see prices dropping far lower. :)

I cant actually see the prices of the links, but i get 20ft of u-channel of similar dimensions for about 7$ locally. But i had to look a lot for it. Im pretty sure you can find something similar, its just that its more likely to be in yellow pages than in google. Still, its good for amazon and any prime user can get shipping for free i guess.

What size of u-channel do you get for 7$ a stick?

Comparable to the ones me tioned here, i think i checked for 15mm sides, 1.5 thick. Cuts are extra.

Edit: 20mm base, 15 mm wings, 1.5mm thick is 7€ + 21% sales tax for 6mm. 1€ per cut is a bit much though but great for pro looking cuts without sharp metal pieces. 15 all sides, 1.5 thick is about 4 + tax for 6m/20'.

I'm not trying to cause an argument or to argue with anyone, but I have a question about asking contractor(s).
I don't know of any contractor that will give anyone info on where a potential customer can get products themselves and at contractor pricing...they buy it and add a mark up to make profits...why would they give out the information to loose money ?
Also the links above are not available to ship to Canada...well to my location anyways...shame...lol

Obviously, youd need someone thats willing to collaborate or do the search for a provider yourself. All im saying is look in the less obvious places. Dont search for heatsinks, search for aluminium profiles, dont search on amazon search more locally etc i found my hookup by looking in this way.

You can try google construction material aluminium city name and start thrawling thru that.

Those are crap.

You can get good ones that can do 15w per ft and have PMMA covers.

They are called "SOLIS" look for lighting companies that do the full 3m legnths and you can get then for £3 per heatsink including the cover and caps. just make sure you get the PMMA cover as the PC ones are really bad.

15w per ft is the max really.
