Stretching?

Hey, this is my first ever grow and my setup is extremely minimal. I'm attempting to grow on my windowsill, and would like to avoid the hassle and cost of setting up a whole grow room. Are my seedlings stretching or am I just being overly worried? My plants are a little over a week old.PXL_20200915_183429931.jpg

I would start with separating those seedlings. They will thank you for it. Then replant them deeper. And keep more light on them. Also water less. Good luck friend!

If it were me I would change to a decent potting soil, put them in individual containers, buy a light and a fan. I get that you want to save the expense but in the end you will only get out what you put in.

I'm definitely going to do that. This grow was mainly a test run with some random bagseeds that I found, I have extra seeds and can try again if these fail epically. I really just wanted to see if I could actually grow something, and these little seeds definitely exceeded my expectations! The main reason for them all being in the same pot was to account for having to get rid of any of them if they turned out to be males. I appreciate the advice!

Definitely stretching. Luckily you can plant it down a bit and like tomatoes they will form new roots/thrive.

No. That's only 3.5 watts. Just put a regular LED bulb in a regular lamp. I'm using the 23 or 24 watt daylight bulb that's equivalent to a 100 watt incandescent. Any regular lamp will work, but 3.5 ain't shit.
I like the way you handled seeing that 3.5w lol I know a few that woulda used that as a baseball bat.

I agree with you as well. More light. Preferably in the blue spectrum more than reds. It will keep them short supposedly.

It definitely keeps them shorter using the higher Kelvin spectrum. That's partly why I suggested using a Daylight LED bulb. It's probably like 5000k. The Warm and Cool have lower K ratings, so more red. Warm has the lowest K rating.
