Streetlight?

Ive heard streetlights are pretty good for growing
anybody know if this is true?
or tried it out themselves?

i may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you asked last week about street lights....

some street lights are highpressure sodium 100 watt

it could work. you have to figure out how many watts it is though, and may only work for 1 or 2 plants.
I think they take measures though so that you can't plug it into your house plug, otherwise alot more of them would be stolen.

The street lights that are yellow/orange light are HPS
Many businesses use them around their building for security as well. I saw a 600W one at Les Schwab. Real bright at night

The blue lights are metal halide. I know my work uses 250W MH lights in the parking lot.

Before you take it.... Make sure it isn't Mercury Vapor. That form of HID lighting is super crap for growing. Its what they use in older neighborhoods. You can buy them at WalMart for like $50. DONT USE IT. If it is HPS or MH go for it.

No they are LPS ,Low Pressure Sodium and are NOT suitable for grow lights as they have too narrow a spectrum.

Exactly what I was going to say.

go to a high school and take the lights that have a blue ish natraual light too them they are mh 200-600 watt allways we all grow bud and its not legal orecal so stealing no big deal

stealing is a big deal. just because what we do is illegal, that doesn't make it wrong. theft is wrong, no 2 ways about it.

If you steal from the public, you pay for it... Both in taxes and in time served. I agree with the above users.... If you have to steal to get proper lighting, then you shouldn't be growing...

Hopefully you will be smart enough to steal electricity too, so that way when the cops bust you for stealing electricity they will find the stolen lights. Then you will make us all look bad. But hey, be egocentric and self-centered.. Its all about you and what you can get away with right?!?! (This is all sarcasim)

Flat out- Dont steal. Breaking the law for mj is one thing, theft degrades your reputation and shows a lack of morals.
