Straw tek vs pf tek

I use to grow Cubensis (Gulf Coast) on straw and learned a lot threw trail and error cause I was self taught . I can make my own thick salution and prints in a limitless supply , so I was just wondering If I can make my own solution is it worth while to switch to the pf cakes? I'm looking to optimize yields, I just need the short answer on Pro's And Cons of the PF Tek on yield,cost and difficulty compared to straw if you can.

Can I just do a rye transfer to the cake, or is that not a good idea at all?.. at least with the rye transfer I would have built the strain from scratch and be inoculating with myciluim that's going to insure the characteristics that I want ?. Or should I just for all intensive purposes inoculate with 1CC of solution. What's more proper?

Question # 3 Is a 1/2 quart cake better than a 1 Quart cake? Why?

pf tek is lowest yeild tek. if you mastered straw dont turn back now.

on the other hand
pf is probably one of the most simple, easy teks, and one of the cheapest.

i would do your rye transfer into a LC then make a syringe from it if you wanted to do the PF tek, no risk of contaming the cake with good innoculation and you would still keep your "clone"

yeah an lc, would be alot easier that grain to grain transfers, I've never heard of a quart or half quart cake. most cakes are small so they colonize fast and completely the larger the cake the more time it would take to colonize and much higher possibility that it wont fully colonize when that large.

yeah i wouldnt go any larger then a pint cake, and ive had my best results with half pint cakes, maybe slightly larger mushrooms off my pints but more flushes out of my half pints
