Strangely looking leaves on seedling.. Trileaf??

I'm new in to growing and I did a few mistakes in the beginning of the seedling process.. I had it in the dark when it first popped up and it caused it to stretch.. I was also potting it in a coco pellet without having nutrients so I guess that caused the dots on the leaves..

Anyway I don't know if the trileaves is happening because of this kind of stress on the seedling or is it genetics?

If so does that mean that it's gonna affect its bud quality or yield?

It's a fairly common mutation. Shouldn't affect quality. Quantity? Who knows. You'll have three budsites where there usually are two, but it might not mean 33% more yield.

No the three cotyledons were made in the seed formation mainly a mitosis error brought about by stress.

It should revert back to normal growth but you seem to be stressing the hell out of it so anything can happen.

Regardless of the specie, whether plant or animal, anomalies typically aren’t as hearty as their less exotic cousins. Don’t expect a 50% increase in yield. Yes 50. 2+1=3. 1 is 50% of 2. I suck at math and I’m stoned but that’s basic enough for even me

Yup, it should go back to normal growth likely in a node or two. Had a few of these, even had one crazy girl top herself at the first node haha!

That’s why I said 33%

Self topping is either damage to the apical shoot or lose of apical dominance into what we term as whorled phyllotaxy.

Please note that cotyledons form in the seed before germination and as such was an error in division at early seed creation.

You are right to say it is transient - stuff brought on by stress that will revert back to normal when stress stops

May revert to growing pairs or may not.

If something grows at 100% biological efficiency you will never get 33% extra from it and three leafed plants will most likely have the same weight of matter as two not 33% more - why plant growth regulators cant give us 33% extra bud and growth
