strain(s) to help with type 1 diabetes

I have not seen any in depth studies on the effects of medical marijuana for type I diabetic patients. Now if you are trying to medicate for lets say if you are suffering unbearable pain because you have type I Diabetes then I could understand that usage. However, I have yet to see any documentation if there are any strains out there help control your actual blood glucose levels. Alot of strains in the market can induce eating alot and to the best of my knowledge that is not a good thing and hard to monitor your blood glucose levels if your type I diabetic.

I have seen some very indepth studies. They are out there. At one point I started my own research, but then I found so many already done that I decided it was a waste of time and stopped.

There is absolutely nothing about marijuana or any of its byproducts known to "help" diabetics do anything other than get stoned, relieve nausea, relieve glaucoma. It will do nothing to stimulate your endocrine system to produce insulin or to regulate your blood glucose levels. Your diabetes educator has certainly made you clear on the need for frequent blood glucose checks and coverage with the insulin your endocrinologist has prescribed.

End your search now regarding marijuana and diabetes if it is blood glucose you are attempting to influence or control. Diabetes is a serious disease.

While it won't replace insulin, there is strong clinical evidence that shows it can assist in blood sugar regulation (mechanism not understood, believed to be related to the relaxation and subdued stress response, stress is bad for your blood sugar) and in rats given Type 1 diabetes in a lab, those who received doses of CBD retained 88% of their islet cell function while the control group were all full fledged diabetics. Given the complexities of this plant and the number of chemicals and it's known role in regulation of your immune system function means there could be serious potential in the plant for this disease. We all still have our stem cells (which produce islet cells) but the islet cells get killed by our immune systems. You can read the NIST patent on it for more information.

Beyond it's potential as a direct therapy (key word being potential) it has well established neuroprotective qualities and is excellent in managing neuropathic pain (which is not uncommon in type 1's who have had it for a long time).

Personally I'd recommend a high CBD strain.

Cannatonic, CBD Crew gear etc.

Yeah, the nausea etc. Just watch my fam go through a rough patch figured we could find somthing to calm it a bit. Your reply makes me think it could be a personal thing & he'll have to search for what works for him. I think we'll start with a hybrid known to help nausea....Respect Brother Clankie +Rep
For nausea I believe strong sativas are best. He needs high CBD strains too though IMO.

Let me also make myself clear, in NO WAY am I saying MJ can control diabetes. You need to take your proper medicines and eat right. But I can say from my own experiences that my after eating spikes are lower if I smoke after eating.
I read a very indepth study on MJ helping to regulate.

Most use weed to controle the neuropathy. I suffer with Neuropathy and found strains like Blue cheese, Chernobyl (higher thc) better as it made the pain easier to ignore

My initial ? was worded in correctly. I wanted info on strains that would relieve or lessen the "impact" of his symptoms due to type 1 diabetes. I was not under the assumption that herb would rid him of his diabetes. I had just witnessed my brother go through some shit & was positive there was medicine out that could help. I use it for pain relief/ anti-inflammatory, but for most its just a recreational drug! Thanx to all who shared their thoughts & experiences.

I feel sick in my stomach every morning half an hour after I wake up for 5 minutes.

Do I have diabetes and should I smoke more weed?

Smoking more weed now as a precautionary measure

No but diabetes can you mutt.
Why would U reply with such a disheartening post to someone asking for help? Cause its the truth? Your just telling me how it is? I need to be educated?
Why would you call me a MUTT, & when U say MUTT I know U mean it literally, Mixed Breed, Not of PURE BLOOD etc. Your MoMs a MUTT!

When I wrote " not everything in this world can be explained" I was implying that somethings defy logic. Saying its improbable, impossible, has yet to be proven or has been disproven, doest ELIMINATE its possibility! Even the wisest man knows he does not know it all! Dudes like U can seem very wise in your world (environment, surroundings, people etc.) but U disregard the wisdom of those who dont meet your criteria, be it physically, socially, economically, grammatically what ever. Thinking your mentally superior & their thoughts & experiences "wisdom" is of no value to you and not worth knowing because it is wrong or incorrect. maybe idiotic is a word you would use.

I dont know what kind of person you are when your not in front of a keyboard but if you move outside like U have been in this thread U gonna die alone a cold! Especially if your surrounded with folks as intelligent & informed as yourself.

Where do your facts come from? Have U conducted any studies on maryJ & her effects or lack of on diabetes? Who funded the studies & or publication of the data that supports your claims?

I was asking U to chill with the wack comment! I didnt curse U or call U any names! I dont KNOW YOUUUUUUU! I was knocking your actions. U know U were on some snotty bullshit with your reply. Then you call me a MUTT!!!!!! Come On Homie! I'll Pray for U

I dont get it!

I am not diabetic or some hypochondriac looking for a reason to get "HIGH".

It doesnt have to be smoked. Its said Mary may loose some of her beneficial qualities when burnt or raised past a "certain" temp. Who knows? Ask Hotrod. But my Fams make teas & cook with it. They also make tonics and ointments or creams with em.

Doesnt any1 believe that mary is a "natural healer" that has the potential to prevent, regress or cure many sicknesses & diseases & we just havent figured it all out yet?
