growco has been in the game since the 90's and they do have lots of product but they also are frequented by a lot of beginners and their prices look to take advantage of that. If you have some big orders go to cultivation station on division over in kentwood...they have just as much product if not more and if you know how to bargain they will work with you.

I remember being weary of Growco when they opened there doors . It was a whole different era then as Operation Green Merchant had made the most of pot growers paranoia in the previous years . We all thought at first that the place was a setup , after time went by we began to ride the city bus to the store due to fear of being watched . We would carry large army bags and purchase what we could carry in them .

Eventually we would borrow and Uncles car and go there twice a year and stock up . It was more fun back then growing to be honest as then the only motives were either A or B . And A was for the love and B for the cash . Seems like we have a majority of B growers in this era hiding behind cards growing greed .

its cool to hear about the "scene" before the laws came around..I was probably the perfect age to start shortly after the MI law passed but i remember older cousins getting busted when i was younger and aunts an uncles not knowing what to do haha.

i think there are a lot of people growing for cash but partly because they don't have any other reason to. What i mean is, you don't meet a terminal cancer patient everyday let alone when you're 20 years old. I think many people who are cash motivated would have no problem helping if the situation were to arise, they just don't actively seek them out. more concerned with paying off those new hoods and ballasts.

Growco has 15% off marked prices for cardholders.
But they also don't believe in AirPots, so I don't shop at just one store.

That being said, I've spent some money at GardenDoctor and AAA Hydroponics as well. I'd rather spend my cash at places that are willing to go the distance and prove they have good employees. Growco is convenient, but so far I've only dealt with one good employee(not the owner surprisingly). It seems like I need to assume the first person to help me at Growco is the newest person. However, I've always left with what I wanted, unless it's AirPots.

I am jealous of those in the metro areas , all I have close to me is one store with a rude crabby old drunk running the show and another with a kind air headed lady who cant keep it together . Sad to say none of the owners or employees have any real experience , my daughters have been in the dirt longer than them all .. Between the two stores I find myself just returning to the old game of online purchasing and shopping at Lowes and Homedepot . I have saved hundreds in a few months and no longer am subjected to the impulse purchases .

YEAH! online can't be beat in 99.9% of cases. I almost always use the internet for everything that isn't cheap cheap cheap and heavy as hell to ship. one time I bought one timer from a store because i was in a bind....took 3 trips to get a working timer so I say F a store, they just mark stuff up from the internet (where I could get shit myself) to pay the dickhead kid's salary that just feeds me misinformation anyway.

everyone does 15-20% off...their marked price is just MSRP which is already 20% above retail. i dont blame them because everyone does it but it is no special deal. Most of the time the only thing that will make or break a online dea for me is the shipping. A lot of these dudes with cheap online prices will fuck you on the back end with shipping so its almost a wash.
