Stop feeding nutes before finishing grow?? Mixed signals.

Hello everyone! Im kinda hearing mixed opinions on what to do here. Some people say stop, and some people say continue to feed till you chop her down. I seen one persons post "why would you starve a race horse 2 weeks before the race?". Now i kinda agree with this analogy, it makes sense. Why would you want to stop feeding her?

Exactly, why starve them when they need it the most. Now what you can do is ween them down a little the last two weeks but don't cut them off.
Yeah that sounds like a better idea then nothing haha thanks for the reply :)
Depends. Hydro? Keep nutrition. Soil? Only water 8-10 days defore finish
Im using soil, why do you say only use water? Just wondering. Thanks for the reply too.

It not really like a race horse. Race horses are lean and easy to starve. Our plants are pamperd and store alot of nutrients within itself. A reserve that it can draw from for a surprising lenght of time if need be. Its important to allow the plant to draw from that storage near the end. There is no cookie cutter response for when to stop feeding. Vibe with them!

so to be clear you actually do stop feeding before finishing a grow:?:
I like to use molasses right up to and thru harvest. I cut my bloom juice a couple weeks before chop time though.

EDIT: meant to add this but you had already quoted me :bigjoint:

1/4 strength nutes or plain water for the final 2 weeks works well.. as long as i get plenty of run off.. the one time i experimented with reducing run off resulted in a harsher then usual final product.. im in coco.:bigjoint:

so yes you CAN stop feeding, i think they call it leaching at that point.

This question has a different answer for each style of grow you use. Hydroponics for the most part you can get away with plain ro water for the last 3 days. Maybe add a little piece of mind and use a flushing agent with that. Maybe up to 5 days in larger volume container hydro with medium like coco or big stonewool blocks. Soil less like promix or most peat based mixes I would give 8-10 days prior to harvest of just plain water with enzymes added to it. Low porosity soil like ffof or high compost mixes I would do two weeks of just waterings if it was synthetic inputs used to grow in that type of soil. One of the best things you could do is to first know your strain. Its metabolism has alot to do with when u would want to begin "flushing"
