I get a stinky foot or old mop smell by the second day in my diy dwc bucket . This is her 9th day she looks healthy in my eyes this is my first time doing dwc I get a ppm meter this friday I am using flora series as well as ph down with tap water i got a bottle of ice to keep the temperature down just incase . What's going on and if I keep changing water everyday it's going to be a hassle but if it's still gonna be good bud I will stick to it and make sure to clean everything maybe buy a set of new stuff on how to run a sterilizer through the system I heard people talk about can post pictures of water in the next day day in a half15865212232861073421701430280784.jpg

To me, it's one of two things. One, your water temps are too high, you want them to hang around 68 degrees or else your water can breed pythium bacteria. Second, you don't have sufficient air circulation in your system. Try looking into "compost teas" if you have ever heard of them.
No I haven't heard about that I'll check into that. And I'll go look into getting a different air pump today aswell

Totally agree with this...also, an ice bottle in a res that your roots will also be growing in isn't the best...roots like the water to be a nice, even temperature whether they're 1 inch into the water or 4 inches, as opposed to growing roots out a bit and running into what feels like a block of ice in the water. As a rule of thumb, at the minimum, you want 1 litre per minute of air for every gallon of nutrient solution in your res. As long as it doesn't warm the water too much, more than 1lpm per gallon is better. I also use hydroguard because my water temps can occasionally exceed 70F in the summer time for the last few hours of lights on cycle...hasn't failed me yet.

are you seriously going to spend $200 on hydroguard when southern AG is $16? that doesn't make sense at all.. and btw, there is nothing wrong with h202, i used to use it and it works fine for a temp solution to clean things up.

Ooops.. sorry.. AG is actually the same bacteria but WAY WAY more concentrated.. so it's even a better deal than just that price...

So I just got a new pump says it's good for 30 to 40 gallons I'm looking on making a cooling coil or something that can be done fairly cheap and hope that works

I've never seen the AG on shelves around here is the only reason I didn't recommend it to begin with...now that I'm aware of it, maybe amazon would have it, but as the OP pointed out Amazon is essentially delaying deliveries of all non-essentials. I ordered PH up 4 weeks ago and it will still be another 7 to 8 days until it arrives. I get Hydroguard for about 25$ per quart, I suppose the price is high due to shipping? And I see what you mean about the ice pack, that should be acceptable! If you cannot get access to Hydroguard, AG, or some other quality root innoculant, then H202 is absolutely a great option. Some people claim greater results going totally sterile with h202, some claim better results going with beneficials like myself, neither is right or wrong, if it works best for you then it is right.
I almost forgot, about your pump, is it a water pump or air pump? For an airpump, you really want to have at least 1 litre per minute of air for every 1 gallon of nute solution. If, given the circumstances, you cannot get a bigger air pump then that is understandable. But for future reference, more air to the roots will help to reduce the growth of bad bacteria and increase your plant's roots overall health and resistance.

Wow really that long even with prime? Yea I cant find southern Ag on Amazon just weed killer and if I do it's like 200 dollars. And same with hydograud so we are going to see if I can pick up some h202 but with this covid and people trying to make their own hand sanitizer and shit is ridiculous and the air pump I just put pics of , you think it will be good ? Looks noticeable more bubbles

Thank you for your help very much appreciated and that's to all who has already as well .. the smell is kinda there and I think around end of today it would stink fairly bad if I'm not mistaken so I think its helping and I'm going to the store right now to see if I can get some h202

If it doesn't I'll look into a bigger one yet but I thought it would be good enough as I couldn't see the instructions that say the info that I need .. from my understanding that's not enough

Bra so I have not ran nutes for soild day now going on two .. 2 more days and it will be 14 days so I am leaving 4L of water out for the day and going to add nutes tomorrow to that and let sit for day and if all is still well with that I'm going to add that to 3 more Ls in the res and see what happens but other then that I'm not sure mate... are you using RO water ? I'm using Tap but cant buy a big jug of RO water from the store to see if that helps ,cause they dont have any to buy :( I'm in the same boat but I really want to ride it out but I will go through ph down way to fast if it happens every two days .. if it was once a week I could do that ..ps pretty sure she stunted tho I dropped a light on her like the first week lmao but shes doing good looks like

If I do find a fix I will let you know ..someone before was saying it could be a calcium build up if we are using tap water and I can see that just not the stink
