@Newgrower4now there's no right or wrong answer to that in my opinion.
There's many factors to take into account such as wether you're using a scrog or SOG set-up.
Ultimately, similar to results can be achieved because ultimately the space will be filled.

More plants gives you more strains.
More plants gives you second chances.

More plants means extra hassle.

Hopefully someone else will chip in their 2 cents.

I know this is off subject but I could not get the form to act right this morning. but I do believe I have overcrowded my screen which inevitably lead to smaller Let's denser buds I have about a 5' by 4, room would it be better to have say 4 plants say in 2 gallon buckets or 2 plants in 4 to 5 gallon buckets
Are you tying down the grow tips to run horizontally across the screen ScroG style? You can crowd the hell out of the screen and get better yields with even one plant. You have to veg longer with one so with 4 you can fill the screen faster. Two would do a good job as well.

I like #5 nursery pots that hold about 4USG for plants that are going to be vegged for a while so the root system has lots of room. Bigger roots = bigger yields. If you want to grow monsters then you'd want bigger pots.

I'm using the scrog method

I did not tie anything down I just let the grow tips grow about 6in or so above the screen and then tucked them under again if that makes any sense. One thing I believe I could have done is defoliated more so the buds themselves would have had more light. Something else that I believe was a problem is I did not allow enough room for the free flower stretch

I used 2 plants this time and I used (don't laugh) milk crates lined with burlap I already had them and they hold just over 4 gallons of soil

If I plan on harvesting in the next 5 to 7 days what are some recommendations on how I need to flush the plants do I use straight water or do I you say mildly deleted nutrition solution

I don't flush ever but just feed straight RO water the last couple weeks. Drying the pot slowly and curing well is the trick to get smooth smoking bud.

Chop when you have time. Total BS to give long dark times before chopping.

I crop my girls over a couple of weeks so dark periods is useless to me and I've never seen anything but stoner myths to support long dark periods before cropping.

You can double THC levels by driving a rusty nail into the base of the main stem 24 hours before chopping tho. ;)

Awesome I'm fixing to start cutting in about 10 minutes kind of exciting my buds I let everything get overcrowded this go around so my buds came out a little small but they look awesome to me as far as the bud itself if that makes any sense the smell and the trichome and hairs everything is just very good looking.
I was thinking about putting them in ice water to freeze the trichomes so the th level will go up instead of the nail thing LOL . Old med user you have probably gave me the most useful help that I've gotten since I've started this venture and I just want to tell you how much I appreciate you sharing your knowledge thank you

So I guess since I'll be chopping them down all within a few hours or within 24 hours apart if they are in their dark. And I turn the light on for say 10 minutes to get some cut out and then turn my light off they're not going to have enough time to hermaphrodite on me correct

You are correct, that's simply not enough time to do anything bad... I wouldn't worry about it so much personally... :)

@hawse is right. You don't need to be concerned about 'nanners at this stage. If you left the plants under 12/12 for another couple week they may start throwing 'nanners on their own. That pollen can be used to make fem seeds on other flowering plants. Or can save it then make some seeds with the next batch of plants. Dust a few lower buds and get some free fem seeds and crop the rest of the plant like usual. Or raise a clone until a foot tall and flower it just for dusting and score a 1000 fem seeds. Be a big hit with your buddies. :)

I just leave my light on their regular 12/12 timing and may crop a few hours worth one day then two days later go get some more. I'll keep a green CFL in the grow room that comes on when I turn on the lights to go into the basement so I can go get colas whenever I want and not interrupt their dark time. Could be a month before they are all done and in that scenario I could get 'nanners but it doesn't matter at all.

That's been my thing since I started in forums 10 years ago. Helping new growers get on track is my way of paying it forward. I've learned tons doing it and there is still so much left to learn. One of my fellow Admins from the now defunct CC forums just sent me some hi-CBD seeds that I'll be planting as soon as they get here this week. I plan to be crossing them with some of my favorite strains to get CBD versions. I might be an old fart but still too young to hang up my spurs! :D

I love learning new stuff about all sorts of things. Found out my birth mother died of dementia and I'm gonna fight that to the grave. I used to think dying in a fire was the worst way to go but slowly losing my mind is a lot scarier.

As you learn more I hope you pay it forward as well.
