Stepping up from Fox Farm

Happy Halloween everyone, I have kind of a general question. Iv'e been growing for a while now and my funds are just allowing me to start getting into it a bit more, ive only been using the fox farm trio with cha ching. Its been a great product for me for me so far (never yielded under 3.5 oz per plant) but its getting to a point where it seems too basic for how much id like to venture into growing so i was curious as to what nutrient line more advanced growers would recommend coming from the fox farm trio. I want to get into using beneficial bacteria and more organic/natural products. Not completely against chemical fertz, i would just like to use as little as possible while continuing to produce big/potent buds.

If it's working for you, then why change it?? There are cheaper alternatives out there that will give you great results.

Nutrients ARE basic. The nute companies pitch all sorts of hype, i.e. bullshit, about why you need $100 worth of watered-down nutrients, when like Plaguedog said there are plenty of cheaper nutes. You plant doesn't know or care what picture is on the label.

I used the FF trio with the 3 solubles last season, now after doing a lot of reading and researching, next year ill be looking into Jack's Classic. It sounds much easier and it's definitely much cheaper. I guess you would say I'm stepping down? By the way, I have great results with FF, but I'm the type of person that always needs to experiment. Doing things differently keeps me learning new things. There's no substitute for hands on experience.

believe it or not, you already WERE using the unnecessarily long, over-complicated method. Organics (specifically a high quality living soil mix) is potentially much easier than any of that bottled crap. A handful of this and a handful of that, let it "cook" for a month or a little more, and add water. You can make your mix as simple or complex as you like. Check the organics section. I got a couple clones of a buddies purple wreck mother a couple years back and not only was my yield better than his, but my nugs were superior in almost every sense of the word. He had been growing this strain exclusively for 2 years, and this was my first indoor run...ever. The only real difference in our setups was i had slightly more light per plant and i used a 100% organic soil mix and he uses the foxfarms trio pack. i have never looked back to the bottles and i have been recommending farm fresh worm castings to anyone willing to listen. No measuring mystery liquids every week or two, no (trying to) flush the harmful bullshit and salt that has built up in your roots/buds at the end, just a pure unadulterated final product.

I cant suggest a nutrient line to you but I strongly suggest you spend your money on your environment (lights, soil, temps, fans, smell etc.) instead of spending more on your nutrients. If you love the effect of the FF trio then figure out what the plant is responding to and provide it in another way... perhaps where you can control and monitor it more closely. homemade brews and teas, natural amendments and so much else can provide whatever FF is giving them. I believe ... Your soil is the key my friend, not a new nute program.

I just ventured into organics this is my 1st run had a few lil problens at beginning. My soil did not have enough microbes etc in it so i had nitrogen def alot. I have been using earth juice and now I am making teas from ewc etc and not used bottled nutes ppm meter nor ph meter and my shit are thriving so much I am loving it. My super soil is still cooking got another 10 days and then transplant wait a week and flower and I am excited
