So after many years and wanting to do a true wood frame grow room setup I’ve finally found the time and motivation to follow through on one. Here in the next day or two I’ll be throwing up the walls and doing ventilation which brings to you all for
Advice. I plan or running 3 4•4 ebb’n flow tables under 1k hps air cooled each. I’ll be both scrubbing and cooling with at least a 800 cfm 8 in. fan and sending it out a chimney. ( I need to upgrade the current fanI have). Now on my intake, would It be ok to just add Some large air registers down low? Or, should I use one of my 6in fans and To supplement air intake?
Thanks for any advice and happy 420 folks!!
Here is a little progress shot of where I’m at F3AD1D61-717A-4DF3-8745-BFF50EC919A9.jpeg

I have a similar setup, and before even reading I saw the fireplace in the background and was going to suggest what you said...sending it up a chimney. I actually have an old chimney right in my room and so everything that gets vented to the exterior goes through a charcoal filter and up and out...It's the perfect setup!!

I pull air through the wall down low from the family room / rest of house...It's too cold to pull air from outside here....But I now have separate fans...I have 2 small 6" fans , one on each end of my HPS cooling run (6 -600watt HPS fixtures) and then a bigger 6" fan that sucks everything through the carbon filter, up and out. I use to do it all with one fan, and will change back to that once summer comes and I want to get rid of the extra heat. Now that heat from the lamps is very useful!!

I've probably changed my setup 10 times in 5 years...started out in tents with aero, now the room with dirt...and still evolving! I just noticed your tents too!

:bigjoint: Good luck, and welcome to the zoo!!

Thanks brotha. What kind of life span you get out of your filters? You randomly go up and smell your chimney?

Oh I know when it's time for a new filter...With wind currents the smell still makes it to the ground at times. I say "oh must be the skunk sprayed again"....lol. I get about 2-3 years out of a filter...I'm getting by with a 6" x 24" filter, and my room is a slightly larger at 8'x 16'...I'm super happy with my newest filter, bought direct from manufacturer, made in USA, around $100, zero odor....and my chimney has a clay liner, and the fan runs 24/7. I also run an ozone machine regularly and suck that up the chimney so there is nothing living in mine I doubt...plus it's a double flu, and the other sides still in use in the winter. Good point on the mold though, and something you really have to stay on top of in a basement, is environment / humidity!!

I couldn't recall the name and had to go look, but this is my best filter yet...I love it, and it's made here in the US

You would save a little scratch on power if you considered running 315CMH’s or even DE 600 HPS. Much better light penetration at the canopy level also, not to mention less heat. I’ve been using the Can Lite filters the last few years and they are great. Those big carbon filters that weigh 100# are a bitch to work with. The Can Lites are so light one person can hang them alone even the large ones.

I’ve been running Samsung QBs for the last year or so and switched ALL my lights over. Clone/mother tent has two Qb132@130watts, my vegg room is a 4x4 with a HLG300@240 watts and in my flower room which is a 9x5 tent with two 550V2 and two HLG UVA/B light strips for the last couple weeks of flower @1020 watts. All combined I run less power all around than before with two 600hps I used to flower with. Yields and quality are unchanged with above 2gpw coming off the 550’s. not to mention I don’t have to run as much AC as before. The only time I go similar or higher yields was with hempy buckets and vertical 600hps, too much work though.
