I will agree that exploring the solar system is very important I just don't think that another trip to the moon would be all that educational. There have been a few unmanned missions bringing tons of useless data back about the moon not to mention the daily satellite cam shots.
Why not focus on alternatives or saving earth with those resources?

Agreed, the time for exploring the moon is more or less over. I believe the time has come for colonizing it and using it as a jumping off point for exploring and colonizing the interplanetary neighborhood.
If we could find a way to repurpose our defense industry to this task, I'd consider the zillions we spend on them money well spent, for a change!

I agree completely. The conspiracy people wonder why we haven't been back.. why? We been there. Why not use our resources to stretch further. Space is a truly unexplored territory. Personally I'd like to know what else is out there. There's no way we are the only planet in all of, well everything to support life
