Im growing out of a 3 by 5 closet with cfl lights and all of my plants at doing ok but now the stems are turning purple and are drooping when I put it in its dark cycle it is moved to another room and it might get lil colder in there could this be a mix o underwater and temp ?

If it gets too cold in the dark cycle ..yes the stems will turn red purple.....the drop in temp from lights on to lights off should be 15 deggrees f....some strains that go purple it's in the genetics....u can also get purple trichomes on some strains....if your plants are not showing signs of deficient....don't worrie about it......hope this helps...happy growing

Plants normally droop when the lights go out. Ideal day/night temp difference is 5-7C. Do not go over 10C difference as sugar assimilation problems and stretching can (and usually do) occur

The same thing is happening to me , I'm at day 23 days old from first sprout (using happy frog soil) I'm growing sour diesel n noticed today that the three bladed leaf stem is like a purple color ... The main stem and top stem is a light green but idk y the stems goin to the fan leaf are purple ..... I haven't given them nutes yet, just transplanted it from solo cup to 3 gal root pouch, so I gave her pure water and next in two days I'll give her nuts(flora nova, grow) for the first time, I hope this will help , is this something I should worry about? The next nod up is beautiful green and I toped it for the first time at the 4th node. Could this have caused the stem on my fan leaf to turn purple? Any advise would b a big help.
Thanx, GrOw TiGeR

Water it with mild nutes. Leave it alone.

This is why I fucking loathe soil...who knows how rich in nutrients it is?? Even they don't know.

Thanx, yea that's what I did I gave her like a 1/4 streanth of nutes yesterday and now I'm gonna leave her alone for a few days untill the soils dry at least three inches down , but yea it pissed me off , the sour diesel is such a good lookn light green thick leaved sativa plant n this is my only one, I got only 4 seeds from a friend n for some reason I could only get one to germinate......IMG_20141209_095917.jpg

IMG_20141209_095955.jpg even on the top leaf u can see its starting to kinda turn color, I topped her like a week ago and the two that branch out are still green but I'm afraid she'll turn redish, if that happens I'm screwed

Why would you be screwed? I have phenos that will have purple leaf stems throughout the whole grow. Doesn't matter how much or how little you feed them, they just grow that way.

They always finish off fine. Never had a problem with them, just the colors turn.

If your plants are growing healthy, don't freak out over the leaf stems. Watch the leaves, and watch your new growth. If everything is healthy, don't go messing it up by fixing something that might not be wrong. ;)

Thanx bro, I just was nurvious cuz its my 4th actual grow and iv never had a sativa ,so idk if this ment they were dieing or if something else was going on ... But yea the leaves still look healthy and just wanted to ask other people what they thought. And I never topped a plant at the 4th node , my last one ,I didn't do anything to the plant . this time I want to do more for a better yield. . I plan on lolipoping it this time to let the nutes and water go up to the top colas. . . I know this is not the right forem but when is a good time to lollipop .... Someone said two weeks into flower but to me , that's adding stress during flower .... If anyone has any advise, let me know , thanx everyone

What do u mean , u don't cut anything on the bottem? U just LST n direct them some were else .... My last one I didn't do anything but I had a lot of smaller buds all on the bottem n only had two real fat buds and a lot of decent sized ones, I figured if I get rid of some of those lower ones it would give me more on the top , I'm still learning , been successfull but trying to find a way to get a bigger yeild ...... Iv never LST or did anything cuz I didn't wanna mess anything up

Pluck, tuck, fuck, crush, snap...it's all the same thing.

My only advice about popping seeds is wash your hands wash your hands wash your hands.

Put the seed in a starter..RW, peat, coco..water it and don't fucking touch it..EVER.

I hook the lower fan leaves over the higher ones if I want a bushy plant or I just cut off all lower growth if I want just a top

Normally cutting stuff off means more stuff to dispose of, won`t be so bad if I had space to set up a composter

The shit talk from someone that knows that all the "magic" training methods and all their stupid fucking names are all processed by the same way by the plant..redistribution of auxins.

Who ever said that crushing the stem of a plant "lst" is actually less stressful than cutting the top of a shoot off? Some stoner? It takes more carbs to build all that new tissue around a crushed stem than it does to seal a wound.

Dude. That doesn't even make sense.

Meanwhile, you didn't actually provide any evidence that what I stated was incorrect, you simply pop on and cry foul.

Unless your doing something really out of the ordinary, all the training methods that suppress the apical growing shoot have the same effects
