stem splitting from to much growth...?

Has this ever happened to anyone else...it's just growing too fast. I don't want rot or bugs getting in there....what should I do? I will upload a pic in a min.

That's what cages prevent. Happens to big plants without some kind of support. It should be fine depending on how bad it is. Go get more support asap. It will only get worse.

Not saying 100% the problem but I have seen this occur in other plants like palms and it was caused by excess water up take. The plant takes up more water then it needs and splits the trunk..
What is the stuff around the base that looks like the cat tossed it's food ;-)

We have native clay soil heavy in KY but it doesn't look like puke lmao. Pink slime mold grows out of my mulch every year and looks like this.

Okay guys thanks....was stressing but now I know what caused it. Really thanks.....can't do anything about the water........ only watered twice this yr and it was maybe a gallon a plant each time.
