stealth hydroponics systems

I recently ordered one of the kits to grow in. I am in a soil grow right now. It is my second grow. my first was nft hydro. I am know the pros and cons of soil and dro, but I am looking for whats comfortable for me. One thing I notices is soil grows draw bugs!!

Anyway I want an opinion on this systrem . My mind tells me that because of the size of the res, and the dimensions that I should not grow large plants. I was shooting for 2-2.5 foot plants anyway. All for personal medical use. The dimensions are 17long x13 wide x 10 high. These are rounded off numbers.

Now before the wise cracks start, Yes I know I could have built one cheaper, Yes I am sure that the nutes may questionable.

Is my observation about keeping my plants small for this system right? Thats what concerns me

So what do you think I should shoot for as far as height goes? I am challenged for vertical space. What do you think of the 12/12 from seed technique? I got the whole system.

u using HPS or MH?

Neway; U can do 12/12 from seed.
I'd flower at 8-10in. so that they are too big when they flower.

U will be changing the res alot i know that, as I have the 6plant bubbler from them also and I change the res every 5-7 days when they get big.

I just ordered this package below ....

SH Hydroponics, Inc. > Multi Spectrum Bubbleponics™ Complete Kit

with the delux package for lights. Should be at my house about the same time I get home next week ... hopefully.

I have heard alot of bad things and about the same on good so Im not sure about it but hell its worth a try right.

What nutes would you guys suggest? I see they have another nute package at ...

SH Hydroponics, Inc. > Technaflora Liquid Nutrient Kit

anyone used these?

I have a little money to spend but didnt want to get anything to big since this is strictly for personal use. Im hoping this is easy enough for my girl to do while I am out of town.

I am still deciding about lighting. I have a 150watt hps, I have a 400 watt mh/hps system, and to top it off I have eight 42 watt cfl' I am experimenting with. I am trying to fine tune my set up. I have 2 grow areas. 1 is a lower level under the stars storage area that I have set up for about 30 inches max height. The temps stay pretty cool in that room due to it being 1/2 underground. I have a small closet upstairs 2x5x7 that is setup also. Gets a little warm in there!!

I purchased 5 female seeds that I plan to use in the dwc setup. 4 in and 1 for a mother. I ordered from Nirvana so I may be shit out of luck. If they do not come, I will work it out. I do not want to waste any time with males in that system, u feel me?

Anyway just a little info on my stuff

I'd get the techna flora cause the high feed kit sucks

Under the right conditions, what is your guess on yield with 2.5 ft plants. I am shooting for 6 oz's. You think that is wishful thinking?
a lil high maybe 4-5oz.
but i never did 2.5ft plants in my 6planter so 6 oz might not be out the ?

Yea see wat u sayin, no time for males.
150w hps is good for that 4 planter. You'll have a nice yield.

I was going to grow my mums that tall in mine. I have six 5" netpots and grow 5 and 1 tomato, but flower 3 of the none tomatos, then make clones off the two strongest mums. If they are infact little ladies.

It costs $35.00
You got the stealth DWC basic unit at $34.95. I almost got the Bubbleponics unit ($89.95) . But I was going to use it just to grow seedlings out to about 18-24"...I'm really glad I didn't. It sounds kinda...secret saucy. ;-) I've heard the Bubbleponic units are kinda high maintenance. The DWC unit looks good for a SOG grow, but how do you easily change the nutrients? I wanted to start some seedlings in RW, then transplant them into net baskets (see pics), then move them into either a DWC or Bubbleponics unit until they get to about 18-24" tall. They would then be moved into larger buckets, in the flowering room. But I determined the roots would get all tied together and it would be a totally bad move! Looks like a PITA to me, on top of being limited to small/medium sized plants!!!

Instead I bought a good 1X3 flood tray ($40.00), a drain for the tray ($3.00), 1/2 inch tubing ($5.00), a fountain pump ($12.00), an aquarium air pump ($12.00??? I did not get a cheap air pump...and I'm going to be pumping to multiple stones), a 6" air stone($3.00), a 22 gallon Rubbermaid container from Wally World ($8.00), and a digital timer for the fountain (flood) pump ($24.00)...I made the simplest, most reliable and dependable ebb & flow system I have ever home brewed!!!

for a grand total of $104.00 plus tax...I could grow them all they way from seed to bud in this tray, but I am only going to use this in a veg room...

Then all you need is a light, a timer, and a fan!!!

:peace:

These guys are narcs! Stay away from them. My buddy bought a few systems from Stealth Hydroponics and 4 weeks later the police were at his door. These guys share the customer base with law enforcement. Be warned!
