Hello,
Here it is ive been reading up and asking questions for a while now and im nearly at the point where my desired Stealthed DIY grow room is nearly designed to what i want. I have provided many drawings to which i have spent time creating on computer to show you all the ins and outs of the entire room and my plans for what i want to do inside.
Theres several questions that i have to ask in this thread abotu a certain Brand of equipment and ventilation questions, just to get people opinions and decide which method would be best.
GrowRoom:
After spending much time and stress on this design im at the stage where all i have to do is attach the door now
, i have taken photos throughout the build of this GrowRoom for when i make a journal of my first grow which provides step by step photos of the contruction.
Its a Pentagon Shaped corner Stealthed Wardrobe unit, a diagram of the measurements and design of this are all on pictures which are linked to this thread below. But let me go into a little more detail about materials and such, i started by building the frame for this grow room using Stud Wall wood posts which is also known as CLH wood i believe. I connected all wood together with using a mixture of Screws, Wooden Dowels and Super Strong Adhesive Glue, i tested the strength of this frame by having my mate who's 15 stonne hang from it and it withheld the weight easy
.
I then added 6mm MDF Boards to the 2 back panels which will be facing the wall in the corner, i also added 18mm MDF board to the ceiling and base of the grow room this is so i will have no problem with hanging things from the ceiling as the thickness of wood is very durable, i then added 18mm beech effect contiboard sheets to the front 2 sides and the door. When screwing the contiboard sheets to the frame i then dipped Magnolia screw caps into glue and stuck over the screw to give a nice finishing effect, i then attached the door to the frame using 90degree kitchen cupboard hinges (4 of them). Overall has a very nice effect in my room my rooms laminate is beech wood and rest fo furniture is beech wood, Once i have some spare cash i will be purchasing some laminating edging and attaching these to the top and bottom of the wardrobe to give it the perfect finish along with a nice second hand door mirror (But for now that will do).
Scrog Screen/Mesh:
I will be building this to fit nice and snug inside the grow room, i will be purchasing some rough sawn kiln post roughly 50mmx50mm diameter and i will be atatched these together using glue, dowels and screws again for strength. I havent decided on which i will be using yet but i will either use some strong Garden twine/string for the mesh or i will use some wired mesh which is used for making hutchs as i have plenty of that lying about. I will then attach using the off cuts of my CLH stud posts to the inside walls of the growroom for the screen to rest on level.
Lighting:
I will be using a PowerPlant Aerowing Air Cooled Reflector Kit as the reflector, this consists of AeroWing Air cooled reflector, hanging hooks, adjustable lampholder, 5 metres of cable, IEC connection and the glass panel. £65.00
With this i will be using a PowerPlant 600W MH bulb £25.95 ( i refuse to pay £50+ for the Sunmaster MH Bulb) this will be for vegging and for flower i will be using the 600W SunMaster HPS Bulb - Dual Spectrum £29.99.
For the Ballast ill be using the 600W Digital Lumatek Ballast £140.00 and in last stages of flower ill switch to the super lumens switch
Reflection:
For the reflectionf or walls i will be purchasing 10M of diffusion foil diamond reflection mylar which i will be using for the whole inside along side with some aluminium tape to attach the mylar with. £25.00
Ventilation:
This where im confused and i do not know what to do with ATM im going to go with a Rhino Pro Carbon Filter RVK Extraction Kit, in this it includes
6" Rhino Pro Carbon Filter
6" RVK Systemair L1 RVK Fan
Cable & Plug
Jubilee Clip & Fast Clamp
Aluminium Ducting
Its rated as a 900m3/hr ventilation kit
I will be having a passive intake hole at the bottom of the growroom for fresh air and im confused whether i should do
fan->ducting->Light->Ducting->Carbon Filter using the 2 red holes up top saying A
or
Carbon Filter->Fan-> Ducting->Light using whole B in the green hole up top
or
Carbon Filter->Fan->Ducting and just let it withdraw it all from grow room and pull air through the intake aswell
I will also have a 9-12" oscilating fan at bottom of the growroom blowing the hot air form the canopy and light up towards top of grow room to stop heat building up £21.99
General Grow Equipment:
Edison Light Fittings for addition lighting (CFL's if needed)
ADWA PH & EC digital pen meters ( Budget ones for now )
Digital Humidity/thermo meter to read my temps and humidity
Nutes ( Canna Product Line )
Soil (Canna Proff Soil )
Plant Pots/Trays
Once money is available i will purchase a fan controller thermostat unit to keep control easily of fans speeds and heat.
Ok so first of all what do you think of my detailed grow room including picture, any flaws you can see?
Second of all is the ventilation how should i ventilate my grow room
1) Should i attached ducting to the hood and air cool the hood and do it that way?
or
2) Should i just atatch to the top of the grow room and let it just extract the heat and pull through fresh air that way?
Thanks
Regards
