Stealth Closet, ventilation questions

Tell.me about it! I have 200 1 gals and water every two days! I pull around hlf oz per OG plants and little more for other strains..seems like he cld handle a small closet

yeah i think he could handle it soon, half oz aint bad i was pulling a bit more, how many watts per square ft are you running? i was doing 800 in a 2x4 then switched up to a 3x5 area and was pulling 3oz a week roughly, off 4 plants(i could fit 32 in the 3x5 so 4 rows of 8, 8 weeks to flower, 4 into flower a week), but it may be strain dependent i was using some yielders.

My last plant in this closet was Big Bud, it ended up growing to be 4ft tall and about 4 ft wide lol. Grew it with CFL's and got 4.7 Oz off of it. So I'm actively looking for seeds for a pure indica plant so I don't have to fight with the size again. I was thinking to start with the new setup I'd do two plants and practice something like a sea of green.

sounds like a plan and it sounds like you had a good harvest, keep up the work!

Ok, last question... Should I spend the extra money on an air cooled hood for my lights? Or is that not needed with my space/setup... Would a basic bat wing work fine as long as the heat is being exhausted?

Or do I get a cool tube?... Clueless on this stuff... Would a clip on fan constantly blowing on/up the light relieve the need for a cool tube or air cooled hood since I'm only doing a 400 watt system.

hmm thats up to you i run both ways depending on what i am using and have available personall i would run a 6" centrufgal blowing into filter outside tent the intake next to the light with a bat wing, if your running a 4" fan i would use a cooltube for sure since it wont be powerful enough all in all its up to you i would buy a cool tube just to have it personally, youll end up using it eventually

check CL first look for a magnetic ballast, if its a magnetic ballast i can pretty much guarantee it still works, there are probably some cheaper deals out there you have to look ebay amazon hydroponics. net google ect. im a pretty cheap guy so i know they can get cheaper than HTG and still get a good product. so i would look around, but HTG is reputable and thats not that bad of a deal.

if you get an HPS you dont need to buy the more expensive MH conversion bulbs it is pointless. MH will run on HPS and it will lose a small amount of life, but if your lights are aircooled you are adding years possibly on your bulbs. so save cash buy a regular MH use it in hps ballast or buy a switchable ballast.

It's only $20 to get the MH conversion bulb if I buy it with that whole kit. Usually they are a lot more expensive for just a bulb... As for getting stuff cheaper, I'm a penny pincher too, but I felt like spending a bit more on a company I've read good reviews on was worth it. My fear is to get something cheap off eBay, it turns out to be something flimsy by some cheap china manufacturer (I know most light kits are from china, but theres good china and BAD china), and it either just not living up to the standards it should, breaking, etc... I've seen a ton of cheap sets on eBay, I'm just afraid of getting crap. I tried googling for some cheap ebay light reviews but found nothing... Still haven't bought anything, gonna research a bit more before I buy, but right now it's looking like HTG unless I can hear some good stuff about the cheap stuff on eBay.
