The main issue i see over the last years, as it relates to the 2008 law is people getting busted for various reasons, and taking plea deals for other various reason..probably most of the time for a lack of funds. Which really bothers me when you have a few "prominent" lawyers touting to be champions of the mm law here...if that were true, then why not take those cases which were used to set horrible precidence and case law for the rest of us-bro bono...$$$
it works like this take it to trial risk a dime, plead out do two, if nobody took pleas the courts would be at a stand still real quick gotta have big balls not to plead out

I'd use a public defender up until the trial date and then choose to defend myself while retaining that council for assistance during the trial.

They are simply trying to close all dispensary's down, they won't open approved stores for years,if ever.
These Nazi sympathizers here have no concern for patient access or the realities of the fight for medical marijuana. They are only self interested in obeying what they are told by "authorities"/enemies of MMJ as to not risk their 12 plant, 2.5 ounce and 5 paying patient good thing/fantasy, medicinal need and patient access be damned ...

right so no matter what we wish for, raise money for vote for or allow in MI s far as marijuana is a near meaningless token vote if/when federal law is enforced?
Imagine how your willingness to register with LARA as a caregiver and documenting your narcotics trafficking out of the trunk of your car will serve you then ...

SGT Bailey and Sen Jones will be laughing at you I'm sure, especially given all of their bullshit you have been parroting here.

how would you know if i was willing to register?
parroting? you sound brain damaged when you say that at this stage in the movement. you know I'm very simply repeating what is written in our Act while trying to support what I voted for the best I can. I dont know anyone in trouble with the law until they choose to profit by selling to more than their own five patients, just like that goddamned parroted Act says right.
It's always those who wish to cash in on the ill with dispensary sales that sound just like you, say the same things, argue the same lame, actually try to convince others to break laws then blame it on the Act and its lack of dispensary mention.....tell me you are not one of those please, even lie, how would I know right.

you wanna fight for the right to sell to as many folks as you can find...go for it. hooray for the entrepreneurial spirit... but dont tell me its legal to do so in our Act, and dont ask me to give you money in court either.

I'm fighting to simply be a legitimate MMJ patient/grower without someone like you, SGT Bailey, Sen Jones, LEO, a prosecutor or courtroom insinuating that some arbitrary LARA numbers prove beyond a reasonable doubt that I am serious felon and fighting against the threat that reality poses to my family. Get it?

FYI Being a military veteran is the only identity qualifier that would place me in some 1% ...

go for it, me too! and thats why I stay within the numbers I voted for. they didnt surprise me with this. I read it closely and understood it well. I'm never over planted or over possessed, it aint magic its a challenge, like doing the speed limit. Just because I'm on the way to an emergency doesnt mean I should lose my license for wreckless driving aye? do the speed limit or take the risks, thats the deal.
you vote for an Act then rebel at its rules.....seems weird to me, but hey, support all the efforts you wish just dont tell me the Act allows to sell to more than five patients is all.
why no have a hoorah to change the plant numbers, or patient counts? why always include a dispensary? yeah, I already know the answers to that, dont be fooled this way, many have been already.

my fight has nothing to do with growing for/supplying more than 5 people though be warned. thats what I voted for.
those that want to profit from your needs are on their own. find a cg or grow your own. Trust me it is not difficult
at all to supply yourself this way legally. If you need help, if you dont know how to grow, or how to grow perpetually, or grow enough quality herb just ask. thats what we're here for.

You voted for an act that doesn't work for all the ill patients out there. Sorry, there just aren't enough cg's willing to drive 1-2 hours to these patients who need very little for the effort it takes. There aren't enough good growers to take care of the ill. That's how I got my 5 patients. cg's who would make patients wait, couldn't supply enough or non moldy, non bug infested meds. A lot don't supply oil or mediblbes. But those cg's are still supplying patients. So as much as you don't have dispensaries backs, a lot of patients need the open hours and need someone to take care of their 1/8th a week, medibles needs, etc.
Glad the law works for you though.
And it's only a speeding ticket for speeding, not a driving without a license charge. Unlike med mj where you can't mention your card in a lot of cases. I've also heard that you can have more than 5 not thru LARA and be protected although I've never had need to look into that.
But choose to see dispensaries only as heartless money making machines, it's what snyder and shuette would want. They profit well off divide and conquer.

I hear ya Norby, about the patient access. But you know something...the only ones I ever hear fighting the issue is the sellers not the patients themselves.
Those patients did not get any idea about a dispensary on the corner from any thing they voted for in 2008.
There are many ill people without the access they need to their medications, now and before the Act, marijuana and prescriptions.
most importantly though is this;
especially in these times, when there will be no advantage to any grower/caregiver to support a dispensary, and knowing they wish us to cease why would we support any measure that wishes to stop patients and caregivers from growing their own, essentially ending our Act for the new Dispensary Act. thats not what I voted for.
the dispensary lobby fucked that one up them selves, all got squeezed anyways because they couldnt figure out how to legally do this in their near 10 year period. I supported them until they threw me under the bus, and you?

You have proof of this? Cause all I've ever seen is one article with one dispensary saying home grows weren't safe. Now that can't be put on every dispensary esp since the new model will drive them out of business and every dispensary open relies on cg's for their supply. We all know the "dispensary lobby"(which seems to be a bunch of rich people not any of the dispensaries currently open) is trying to take over the whole mkt. and we know the only way that will happen is if the current dispensary model is overthrown. So if we don't support ma and pa dispensaries they will divide and conquer cg's and the current dispensaries.
But I support dispensaries because they helped me out whn i was new when CG's wouldn't. Also because I stand by the patients who need dispensaries.
I don't support 1500 plant grows, armored car transport or dispensaries that have to occur all these costs and pass them on to the patients. Funny I said this would happen if we didnt get 4210 as wriitten passed and it's happening. Divide and conquer.

And you know well that the judges wouldn't allow it. It was poorly written but they circumvented as much as they could to put us in the wrong any chance they could. It was one word from what I remember that "nulled" dispensaries and serving more than 5 patients.
And patients support the dispensaries just that they don't come to forums often unless they grow themselves. The #'s thru the door show that. But there has been more than one post of patients looking for meds after a disp raid just that most cg's wouldn't stick their neck out for them.
