I thought you had 4? That's gonna be tough to squeeze in the AG. :?

I do have four, but the 8 in bubblegum plant isnt all that intimidating right now...

SO maybe i was exaggerating, but you get the idea... i JUST cleaned my rez a few minutes ago, and changed the water.... when i went in for closer inspection of the roots, i noticed the roots on the male i chopped and left in was turning purple!!!!!! so i got rid of the pod and some of the roots, not many tho... hopefully nothing goes wrong in there.... at worst, i think imma just have to be cleaning root pieces every week...

but by the looks of things, they havent got any bigger in the last week...

Heard one fella say a good strategy is to take the pump plumb out..leave a bunch more room for roots. Keep the beastes filled up as high as it will go with water. Keep an air stone or two perking. Yeppers that was old whuts his name that said that. Tek maybe? Once them roots hits the water you got a DWC I think. Pump wouldnt help much on that deal especially if it full of roots.

If i take the pump out, what am i gonna use then... i read that on here before, and i'm not that crafty (see my light setup with hangers)

My roots are starting to grow into the pump tho, i gotta pullem out every week

Well whut are you using the pump for now? Nothing. Take the pump out and add an airstone or two plus a cheap airpump. You will be doing bubbleponics. You sorta remind me of my cousin. His Mama and Daddy bought him books and sent him to school. Now whut did he do? Yeppers he chewed on the book covers.

HA...

You's a real funny dude...

But anywho, i have two airstones already... im not familar with indoor growing, or hydroponics, and "bubbleponics" is beyond me....

The pump is watering his roots on a schedule. He needs a pump, not just an airstone.

Ill leave these pics up for a day or so (paranoia).

If they were mine, they would be of my plants 2 weeks after planting. I may have just done my first water change, and added 1/4 fox farms nutes according to their Schedule and 1/2 AG nutes (to buffer water and PH levels) :) I would also think that they seemed to have been stunted the first week and a half (with just water) and are now just starting to really root and grow.

haha... get over yaself jacky.. we'd all be under the jail if that was the case... a terrorist cell forum website, definatly, ROLLITUP.com... not likely...

your plants are looking great... expect some nute burn when your 3rd set of leaves blooms... we've all come to the conclusion that nutes burn them during the seedling stage...

How are you gonna grow 3 plants in that little soil pot?

And what lights are you using?

Yea, don't plant more than one seed per pot. Transplanting seedlings in soil is a bitch, and they usually die. I would say wait until they are big enough to handle the transplant, but by then the roots will be growing together...so be careful.

Ive seen people grow great big bushes in big 8 gallon tubs... but thats alooooot of soil, and alot of light... plus, your gonna have to transplant like 3 times before than.... either way you have very challanging task at hand... as big as those are now, im sure the roots are already tangled...

Well might be true..but the gizmo sure do not rely on aeroponics to work. I think it mo bubbleponics. Roots eventually dangle in the water so its a DWC later on...think all a person really needs to do is keep the water churning and things will work out. Maybe change the water occasionally. Went and took a look at your grow..very sweet. Now where you get that fancy holder for all them curly tail CFL's? And how come you aint got a hood on it..white walls and floors etc? Looks like you wasting a lot of lumens here. Would hate to have repoat such an individual to Algore for wasting energy resources. He most likely insist on buying some carbon credits:) Thats how he keeps his 20 k monthly electric bill from being accused of wasting enegy. Hey you reckon he's growing? That a lot of electricity being used at his house. He acts purty wacky sometimes too.

The CFLs are pretty efficient. I really didn't spend too much in electricity. Yea I guess I could have made a reflector, but this was just a low budget project. The white walls in the room were pretty reflective, the buds that grew by the wall were the most dense. Next time, the AG is just gonna be a clone box, and I'll grow in soil using HPS for flowering.

I just started the seedlings in the in the soil in order to compare growth rates with the AG pods (i had a few extra seeds.) I actually transplanted one of the healthiest looking ones from the soil today into the AG spot w/ the weakest looking plant. If they die, then they die. I know soil to hydro is a big shock. Im experimenting :) I will be digging out the second one in the soil to give to a friend and leave 1 in the pot (and hope it ends up female)

I have the AG Pro 200 series. It has twice the lighting output of the original AG, a 24 hour light setting, and the neck extends 2 feet on the stock bar.
I also took a highschool sciencefair project board and covered it w/ a sheet of mylar that i place around it when not looking after them. I know it is only 3 sided, but the wall behind it is a flat white paint. If i think lighting is affecting growth rate, i can completely surround it (there is plenty of freakin mylar left, the roll is HUGE)

If i get 3 decent sized females that i can clip clones from and then harvest, i will be very happy. Im enjoying the whole learning process. Any advice is also greatly appreciated :)

Question :)

I have heard that you should remove the bottom "round/starter) petals, the ones that first sprout after a few normal leaves start to appear above it. Is this true, and is there a reason for this? :)

thanks

after doing some research, i guess these "water leaves" will fall off on their own over the next few weeks :)

Well, it's 4/20 and I've been drying a batch of iso hash for the past week. I just scraped it up today and stuck it in the oven, then pressed it. Yielded about half a gram of some hard black iso hash. It looks pretty nice, compared to what I was expecting. I would go through the details of how I made it, but you can find that info in the grow faq. Here are some pics of the finished product. :blsmoke:
