Hi all, My first grow.

Im growing outdoors. I have 6 plants, 5 diffrent strains. since it was my first I thought I would get diffrent ones and see which grew best in my conditions.

4 are clones I got from the club, mango, skunk#1, afgan goo, and purple erkle. 2 are granddady by seeds.

My camara died so I only got 1 pic before it went kaput. this is a pic of my purple erkle. growing in a 5 gallon bucket, in foxfarms. It s it its 3rd week of flowering and I have noticed the fan leaves are yellowing a bit. I just checked my ph and it is at 7.4 so I need to lower it what is a good thing to lower it with. I have been changing the ph of my water with lemon juice but as I understand that is a temp solution. By sprinkling dolimite lime on the soil will that help?

I also have heard that during the flowering stage the fan leaves will turn but I want to make sure they ar not turning to fast.(2.5 weeks into flowering)

Lastly I want to make sure Im watering like i should. I have been giving her 1 gallon of water per day(foxfarm nutes evry 3rd day). She is in a 5 gallon bucket sitting in the cali sun(85-100s)and she seem to be doing fine but I just wanted to get your opinion on my watering schedule does it look under/over watered? Now when should I pull back on the watering so the buds dont mold on the inside, is it the last 2 weeks of budding?

Thanks all
having good fun on my first grow and cant wait to see the final product.

Looks good. Once per week, use 2 gals. per bucket. Poke small holes around the root systen, to help the roots get air, keep rim of bucket flooded when watering, this causes a vacuum that forces all the old oxygen out, sucks fresh oxygen in.

Ok there are the girls. 1 purple erkle, 2.afgan goo,3.skunk#1, 4.mango, 5. The twins..grandaddy from seed.

South Texas, I will go and poke holes in the soil of the 2 buckets , the 4 in the ground should be ok? Or should I poke-em hole also?

You also mentioned 2 gallons per bucket per week, do you think the weather here 90-100s next week ,dry, will that be enough water. If Im getting this I should give them 1 good soak and then let them ride a week? It this during the flowering stage only?

What would you use to bring down ph. (in soil, outside)

Thanks again all...

Ya good stuff,
Ok so this is what I did,
seems to me that at this stage 2.5 weeks into flowering I can back down on my watrering. I gave them H20 today PH of 6 with molasses, beer. It is going to be 90s here all week so the next few days I wont water and just observe and Ill give them more sat(3 days) as long as they dont look too bad.bongsmilie

Ill report back in a few:eyesmoke:

EEEEEKKK,

Well I stopped my watering for............1/2 a day and 3 of them instantly wilted??

HMMM so I guess instead of 1 gallon per plant Ill go with 3/4 gallon a plant per day and then Ill see what happens.

Its seems like everyone else waters every 3rd day but I need to water every day.
Im new so Im probably farking something up:sad:

hey man ... awesome looking garden ... give them the water that they need .... it is easy to over water .... but at the same time they still need their water. I have read that letting the soil mostly dry out and then big bouts of watering works well. I tend to be more static and consistent ...just testing the top of the soil with my finger ... dampness or not. As has been said, over watering is much for difficult to fix than underwatering, but underwatering will still kill them taken to the extreme ... yup ... been there and done that too! ahahahaha! Walk on!~~~~~~

Thx Tahoe 58,

Ya I think that is what Ill do they still seem to be thriving . Living where it is hot 90-100 i think must dry them out more....first grow so I m alittle nervous.:weed:

yea the different temps and other factors make your circumstances unique so you have to see what the plants r doing. At full flower with mine, I was watering up to three times a day .... they seemed to drink it up .... but then they slow down again when they are reaching full maturity .... good luck - walk on!!~~

Ok well I was looking at my soil and as I uncovered the first layer I notices white residue. The deeper i dug r the more white in the soil.
Is it Root rot or some fungus? Ill get pics in a bit. If so what to do about root rot. I will stop watering . should I airate the soil?

So this is what I did. I took a stick and from the top of the 5 gallon bucket, I jabbed 8 hole to the bottom. then I flushed it with 4 gallons of water making sure I got a good flush. Tommorrow and the next day Im not going to touch it(un less it absoulutle keels over)It may wilt a wee bit but Im going to hold off on watering it give it a good drying out.
