Starting Seed in Rock wool

Hey guys, it's my first time starting from seed and I'd rather not f it up, so any help would be much appreciated.

To start, I know I must correct the pH of my cubes. How much should I ring them out before planting the germed seeds?

How deep should I place them? Should I cover them up or close the hole?

How saturated should I keep the rockwool/how frequent will I probably need to water? How much?

When should I start feeding them nutes? How much?

Should I keep a dome on and humidity up?

When should I turn on the light?

Anything else come to mind?

Check my reply and indeed all the other replies in this thread https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/369676-rockwool-germination-questions-2.html#post4784110

I have pretty much got rockwool nailed now, leave a bucket of water out for 24 hours to get rid of the clorine, then I PH it to 5.5, drop the cubes in and leave them for at least 24 hours, then I check the PH again and get it to about 5.8...

At the same time I drop the cubes in to the water I put the seeds in tissue which is PH 5.8 to 6.0, once the seeds pop I let at least 3 or 4mm of root develop in the tissue, then take a soaked cube and give it a gentle squeeze to get rid of some of the excess water, then using a match poke a small hole in the rockwool cube and CAREFULLY drop the seed in root downwards, DO NOT force the seed in or you may damage the root... I try to judge the hole I make with a match deep enough to take the seed and root so as it's all about a seed width under the surface, then tease a bit of rockwool over the top so the seed has something to push against or it wont root down.

That is my process, not sure if others would agree, but it works for me :)

How deep should I place them? Should I cover them up or close the hole? Just below seed level then slightly cover

How saturated should I keep the rockwool/how frequent will I probably need to water? How much? Soak them in ph balanced water then a slight squeeze just enough to hold them with no water dripping out and you wont have to water them for a day or so

When should I start feeding them nutes? How much? when they are 1-2 weeks old and start with 1/4 strength

Should I keep a dome on and humidity up? Sure you can keep the dome on them and humidity shouldn't be factor for germination

When should I turn on the light? After the seed has sprouted

Anything else come to mind?

So once you transfer the cracked seed from the towel into the cube, keep it in the dark until it sprouts...then put light on it? I will be using 1.5 inch cubes for starters until they seedlings are large enough to place into 4" rockwool cubes.

Nice, thanks for the quick replies.
^^^"when they are 1-2 weeks old"
Really? Just water huh? Most people agree on this?

Yep 100% Agree, water only for 1-2 weeks.

Yeah, as soon as it sprouts out the rockwool get it under a light or it will go on a mad stretch looking for light and end up long and bendy. ! Also beware of the seed or sack getting caught round the head when it pops out, I have had to carefully pick the seed and sack off quite a few times before due to it almost strangling the stem/head, picking it off yourself is a last resort, hopefully it will come off by itself.
