Starting seed for DWC - how to?

I'm enjoying the fruits of my labors from my first ever grow and pondering my next move. I was able to get some clones for my first time out but it looks like that's not gonna happen again so I've placed my order with Attitude. I use a basic DWC bubbler with 5" net pots & Hydroton.

My better half is employed by a local institution of higher education in Ag research, so we have access to professional-grade equipment, e.g. a friggin' petri dish and some special seed starting solution to soak the very professional paper towel in which we will lay the seed. And herein lies my question...how does one get that tiny, fragile little girl out of the petri dish and into medium? Would it be better to start in the smallest of rockwool cuves? I assume I don't want to use peat pots since this is going into a hydro rig.

How do you masters of the ganj start your seeds and how do you get them into their final pots?

TIA
