Has anybody tried starting plants early indoors? Maybe getting them to about 5 feet and than putting them out in the early spring?

Some of us buy clones and plant them in mid-May, some may even plant seeds in the ground in April, but the majority of the growers here start growing the plants indoor far earlier just like you mentioned. The goodnatured ribbing you got was typical RIU humor which means you're part of the team.

You'll need to learn how to grow indoors and when to transfer outside so you don't shock your plants into becoming hermies (think Bruce/Caitlin Jenner only with both working parts).

Read and learn everything you can in the next few weeks and be prepared for mistakes. Grow what you want, how you want, and enjoy the fuck out of your harvest! And most of all, good luck and happy growing.:bigjoint:
