(also true, but locked), and she called DCF. Man, that was scary because they literally check everything in your house. Anyway, She goes to the basement, looks around and says what's in that room. I told her that's just a store room, and she said ,ok, and walked away. So point being, I have gotten away with it before, but only when I have expected it, not like the ambush that is coming up, because this inspection time is going to run until next fall, so any day this person could possibly show up

Then I said fuck it, I have rights as an American citizen, fuck you, your not entering my house without a search warrant. Period.

So, this is my question. How bad a situation do you think I am

Last point is that the inspection of the interior is not mandatory, but I think that the town will wonder why if I tell them to go get a warrant before you walk into my house, that will raise eyebrows for sure, no doubt about that. The way I look at is that I damned if I do, and damned if I don't.

There are some good things I have read here. I have been busted before growing, it cost me about $25,000 plus 4 years of my life. While it was no elaborate 3 room grow,
I faced 10 years in prison and a much higher cost in dollars than what i had to pay. Fuck lawyers, they are officers of the court don't forget. Mine lied to me repeatedly.
Just understand whats at stake, personally I would not let them in my house under any circumstances, growing or not. Be careful and good luck

Did the cops attempt to take your property also? If not, how did you avoid that part?

Did they specify when they would be doing these inspections ? Maybe you could harvest a few and get your plant count down by then just in case.

I don't know, if the anxiety bothering you more than the loss of 28 plants I say just pull the plants. There is no law against having an indoor grow setup.

Heck I've been using LED grow lights for my cheery tomatoes and herbs for several years now. You could even stick a couple tomato plants and Basil in you emptied containers. Then if they do get to looking into those rooms just offer a few tomatoes :)

I mean sure you will loose this grow but can replant when it's all over.

You are overthinking this. You will most likely get a notice, and you can always refuse. Either way it will give you time to tear down. Sucks but you got to eat shit. right, wrong don't mean shit and you know that. You lose 3 cycles or if you got pals who can help you out you lose some time.

Dude it's like caller ID dont answer if you don't know who's calling, don't answer the knock they will give up sooner or later, and they want get a warrant to inspect your interior, and if you get caught out side tell them to fuck off and go away, worst thing come of it will be higher taxes. Lol

I live in a prohibition state and the tax accessors office is always monitoring neighborhood and property valuations. They will occasionally come to your door and inform you that they are looking around and even ask to come inside. If you aren’t home they obviously don’t come inside and if you refuse to let them in that isn’t a problem either. A lot of times these inspections are triggered by you doing a remodel or buying or selling recently. As you found out this is no big deal, but it is a good reminder that even as a property owner within your rights someone can come to your door at anytime and be legally entitled to enter.

Gas leak
Sewer or water main issues
Other utility issues
Escaped convict known to be in your area

I’m guessing you’ve never experienced a natural gas leak or had a bad storm knock out power lines or other utilities that cross over or under your property. Hell a gas leak can cause entire neighborhoods to be evacuated, and if the utility workers think the problem could be on your property they will go wherever the leak leads (or think it might lead them).

What happens if you or someone you live with has a medical emergency like a heart attack? Would you call 911 and activate the emergency response system knowing that by doing so you are granting the police (or who ever is the first to respond) entrance into your home?
