Looking at this pic, it reminds of the first time I grew this. They leaf like crazy, trim them up, and they come right back in just a few days. Last time I grew them I was using Exhale XL co2 bags and I attributed their grow rate to the additional co2. Now this time I am not adding any co2, and here's come the leaves right back at you. Look at the pic- all those large sunleaves were a lot smaller just 3 days ago. This strain just loves all the LED white light I guess.

So probably Tuesday, the day after the switch to flowering- I'll pinch off all the larger sun leaves again, no matter where they are on the plant. Last grow when I did this, they looked like shit for a few days. Then bounced right back again. Pulling these sun leaves open up all the other low buds on the plant, and they will all end up with a pretty even canopy in the end. Leaf pulling will continue to happen on a regular basis now- I want no branch or bud covered up by a sunleaf.

And it appears this strain is discontinued buy Irie Seeds now. If it turns out anywhere as nice as the last time, I'll have to decide whether I want to keep the strain alive and keep a few mother plants.

Managed to read some of the diary at the farm before guest access kicked me out. Yields from LED outweigh hps any day. New on RIU, got a few diaries on uk420, over here for a bit of variety. Nice setup. I'll be watching

Ive noticed since using this light so far that plants seem to grow new shoots so much faster than MH.

Same wattage roughly but it is really impressive. Can’t wait to see what happens now they are starting to bud!

On the Farm, you can join in a minute and have unlimited access to all my diaries. There’s more of them here, but over there are all the LED Grows.

the Gavitas are heavy in white light, really a ton of it so the plants will veg/leaf like crazy. It also keeps them super short if you keep them close enough. I used to complain the plants had no stretch but after my short plants were yielding higher than tall plants, it became a no brainer.

I also post at uk420, you’ll see a bunch of pics on there too. Or am I “thegambler“ there- it’s one of the other.

my wattage under 2 hps was 2000watts, it‘s 1290 under 2 gavitas. So 40% more weight for about about 35% less electricity. I actually recouped the cost of both LED’s in my first grow, a couple of times over.

Lastly, everyone says you have to use co2 too when using these types of LED’s which is bullshit. It may help final yield a bit, but to me it’s not worth the hassle. I’ve used co2 tanks and such for years, I hated how fast the plants grew- I couldn’t keep up sometimes.

im starting flowering tomorrow, i want the crop done a few weeks before Xmas. Below is a pic from tonight….. nice even canopy, very healthy and this is just half the room. I did remove a bit more of the larger sun leaves this morning, just to open up some more areas to get more light. This side will produce about 53 oz, if I match previous grows.image.jpg

Thanks guys……you are looking at 12 plants there. One the other side I have 6 more of those and 5 Glueberry Muffins by Dynasty Exotic Seeds. i haven't shown that side because I started the Muffins a week later and I want them to catch up a bit. I defoliated these today, 6 monster sun leaves off the 5 plants. I actually started 30 of the OrangeGasm seeds originally, the last I could find anywhere. Only 18 were viable, the others never sprouted. That forced me to start something else quickly. The seeds were from a breeding over 2 years ago, I knew Id lose some of them.

Each plant was topped once, and defoliated once heavily and once lightly. I’ll do it again in about 10 days. I’m at about 750 ppm, always pH’d to 6.3. About 7ml per gallon is always added too. Reverse osmosis water always.

Lush looking canopy. Shows me I can defo fit more in my space. I'm running the maxibright 1030w pro (its effing bright). Also need to defoliate more, done it a few times but still perfecting it. Done a a few 1.5gpw grows, trying to push this to the next level, need to up my numbers though

I’m up between 2.2-2.3 gpw every grow now....... but it takes a 5 week veg, topping once and defoliating often. I was lucky as I kind of hit the ground running when I started with the led’s, others aren’t so lucky. This is my 5th led grow now, I still love my gavita’s.

You're really selling me on the Gavitas. I've long been contemplating a complete switch to LED and those seem to a solid light. I'm running a couple right now but only in my veg room and seedling tent.

Yes, I hand water every other day. Because I water often, I tend to stay on the low side with ppm. Later in flowering I water with fertilizer twice and then plain water with the third water so not to overdo it.

The led’s will only take you so far, you need to be on top of your game with them i.e. control heat and humidity, have the led’s At the right height, up your cal/mag a bit, have a good exhaust system (my room has negative pressure- it’s a bitch pulling that door open), etc. I have around 35 years experience growing under hps so safe to say I’m pretty good at it by now. I also like to tell people K.I.S.S.........don’t throw in a lot of additives, boosters, etc. they are just not needed. And they create issues all on their own. I use Botanicare Pure Blend Pro and cal/mag and NOTHING else.......

I think some of the other led manufacturers are producing better ones now, these Gavita’s have been around for over 2 years with no real updates.......look at the higher end led’sfrom Medic Grow.....they gave me a light to try, it’s a Best Buy at 1/2 the price of the Gavita. Also consider systems that include some UV and IR. If you don’t know why, you should......

My latest led has far red and uv. Been looking at extra UV add on bars for increased terpene production. Been using HPS for the last 20 years, led for the last year. My environments kept pretty good, just the fact I'm in a place where my external temps swing a lot so it takes me a lot of effort to keep my tent in that sweet spot. I do try to keep it simple. Strain is a big factor, the last few grows I've swayed to different ones and it fucked me up. Gonna go back to Gorilla Zkittlez. This was my last crop from a 465w led. Dont want to hijack your thread so I'll sit and watch, always good to see what people are doing.
