Srem narrowing

I have never seen a problem like this before. 95 percent of the rest of the plant is super healthy and green with most all leaves super healthy green. On like 1 or 2 lower branches half way up the stem it gets very narrow and looks dead for like 2 inches. It then goes thick again and is a nice green stem. The buds on that branch looks fine except there is obviously something amiss as the leaves on that branch only have dying leaves on the tips. I know this is not a plant specific problem as I see it in two diff strains at the same time.

Pics below are of my wedding cheesecake auto and other than that one branch I clipped she's gorgeous

Some sort of fungal pathogen like pythium or fusarium. I'd cut those branches off and put some peroxide on the plant wound to sterilize and hope it doesnt continue to spread. Whats your humidity like? I get stem rot outdoor sometimes but the humidity here can be extreme.

Also, It looks like you are elevating your pot off your saucer with blocks of wood? If that is the case, consider using plastic or something non-porous, wood is going to absorb your run off and harbor nasty bacteria and fungus.

Very interesting. I cut off the affected branch a few days ago. Didn't do the peroxide but I'll def take a look at the wound...

Will also do the wood to plastic.

Very strange that a fungus would only affect a single branch... on each plant this only happened to a single branch.

Below is my bruce banner with the same issue on a single stem. This is day of harvest.

Yea very strange and I would lean toward fungus if there were any other symptoms at all... but all othere leafs are super healthy looking. All buds and stems looked great too.

Any ideas on what type of fungus?

Its the lower branches that are affected right? Its is likely going to progress up the plant until it is harvested.

What I think happened is the wood you were using slowly accumulated bad bacteria/fungus throughout the life of your grow and it took a while for it build up enough to start affecting your plant.

What I would do is change the wood to plastic and let the soil dry out a bit, but not bone-dry. Then on your next feeding, water in a beneficial bacteria like OG biowar, recharge, or Safer's garden friendly fungicide to outcompete the bad guys. Remove any yellowing/brown leaves and try to only water in early mornings, never before lights out.

Interesting thought. I'm not going to start on this plant as I'm about 3 weeks from.harvest and it seems like whatever it was I snipped it all off. It was more affecting my bruce banner but she has already been harvested. I want to know for future use as this was clearly something I was doing since it was on two diff strains.

I will definitely switch to plastic on my next grow tho.

Is this something that could continue to spread even after harvest? Or does it need to be a living plant?

Never feed before Lights out. Feed once in the morning and once at night. Like frequent fertigation with coco and Perlite mixture.

Mine just affected one branch on two different plants. Didn't find any sign of it elsewhere. So, I just tossed that part.
Dried and consumed the rest. Didn't seem to be systemic. Just keep an eye on it..
