sQUISHIN BUDS

I have just recently bought a press from amazon. It's not the best but I litterly only need it to heat up and push together right?? Well now I'm havin doubts cause I seem to be having a lot of trouble. If I press just flower it seems to be runny and unable to pick up so was a complete waste. The when I use micron bags I only get a little bit of rosin and it seems to feel like rubber.. like dried rubber cement. No rosin I've ever had lookedbbn like that.. I guess buying a heat gun and see if the temps match up is gonna be my first thing. But if anyone has any kind of tip that I may be missin out on I would very much appriciate any help. Also the bud I get is dispensary quality so its loaded up with trics.. thanks for any help .

Few questions to ask, just to narrow it down and get your goo flowin’

what temp do you run your plates?
How long of a press are you doing?
Do you press fresh flower or dried?
there’s also a few methods on folding technique, do you fold or just stuff in?

sorry for all the questions, but hoping I can help narrow it down to the problem

I set my plates at 180 and they said to leave it for 2 mins but I've done it for about 60secs,the flowers are cured buds from dispensary, I've put flower into the bags and tried just squishin bud.i usually just use 2 pieces of parchment. I folded the side to make a flow path but nothin to flow

Buddy some strains don't yield much, some only give a 10% return. If you're only using a couple grams you might not get that much rosin in return.

My friend loves pressing buds but he says they’ve gotta be on the freshly cured side because as they dry you get way less return.

I usually put mine a little higher, when my box says 200f I know the heating element hits that, however it has to transfer that heat to the plates, and it looses a bit of that temp (since it has to travel through a one inch plate)
also, I wait about 5-10 minutes before pressing to ensure it’s all evenly heated - with the plates touching -
Some flower doesn’t produce as much resin as others, so it may be the strain picked (though I can’t be certain)
I personally like to press with freshly dried herb (before jarring)

I think looking into folding technique would be super helpful, I didn’t realize how much return I was loosing due to improper folding/stuffing until I tried a few out.
Hope this helps a little!

It should work, before my machine I used to use a hair straightener and do push-ups on it for rosin lol.
Can you adjust the pressure on your model?
If it’s the one I saw on amazon, it should have a bolt that can adjust the plate pressure
I do have the bolt and I have it set for a good press without breaking the handle off like others have complained about. Maybe my celcius and farenheit are wrong?? I dont know. Maybe I have to wait for someone to harvest so I can have plenty of bud to play with insted of 50-60dollar cuts. It really sucks when u buy that expensive weed and press it and u get shit pi outta it. Likening said before my continuous problem is the ???almost water like oil??? That stays on the parchment and unable to pick up.thats the really frustrating part

Do you have pictures of the oil/goo?

When this happened to me the bud was too moist. 55-62% is what you're looking for.
I mean its theee most beautiful cured bud perfect for dogs and burns beautiful. Surely ain't dry and to say moist..... its def not moist. The best way I can describe it to you is.. this is perfectly cured and dried bud. And half of them come with bolvida packs also.. I guess it's just somthin I'm gonna have to tinker with when I have some extra bud to experiment with. I do appriciate everyone takin the time to talk to me and help answer my question. Very much appriciate.
