This is feminized blue mystic from nirvana, 4 days in. Started these by putting the seed right into the rockwool. I started with 4, but one didnt crack, one was just a mangled white root bent around in the air where i could see the leaf kind of stuck in the rockwool.. i played with it too much and ended up throwing it away. I have this one and another one left which looks great.

what's going on here? the one i threw away looked like this sorta but when i investigated the cube, there was a nice long, straight root in there so i probably killed it unnessecarily. Did i put the seeds in backwards? i put the end that has the hole or looks like an anus in the cube first.

Just let it be, if its exposed to the light for too long it will die, but it might find its way back into your rockwoll so give it time, just dont play with it!

will the plant die? or will the exposed root fall off?

I just started my last seed. i put it in a rockwool cube, poured a little water over it, set it on a plate, put a clear bowl over it, and put it in a dark place.

im worried that by the time my two 4 day old sprouts are ready for nutrients, this next one im germinating wont be and i only have one system to put these in. So is it better to start them on slight nutrients too early or too late is another question.

And for the future, germinate your seeds before you put them in rockwool. Then put them with the hypocondil (the white root) first in the cube. You can never tell where exactly the seed will break and the root will grow out of.

Edit: If you don't play with the tap root anymore it may sink in and continue growing.

You should first place your seeds in a moist napkin until the root hatches and then place the seed root down in the germinating medium.

the side that looks like an anus is the top...the root comes out the bottom/side

This is what the plant looks like.. leaf growth, but the root is still on the top of the rock wool.. it curves around in the air before reentering the cube.

Can i cut up another piece of rockwool and lay it on top of the cube, under the plant?

I appreciate the help.
