Sprout is laying on side:-(any input would be great

hey guys just wondering what it could be to cause my new sprout to lean to the side when under the 400mh. the light is 34'' away i also put the sensor for my digital temp gage near the sprout and it read 81 degrees...i put my hand near it and it didnt feel hot. the humidity is 30%

Sounds like a heat issue to me. Notice any stem discoloration? An remember that you put your hand there for a couple of seconds THE PLANT NEVER MOVES its constantly absorbing the heat.

the stem is reddish, i put the digi temperature out sensor so that it dangles next to sprout it red 79-81 degrees....would that be too hot?. and should I get them further away from the 400mh than 30'' until it gets taller? thanks for the help.

thats hotter than i like MY plants to be i never let them get above 79. If its still little you should consider switching to some CFLs untill it gets a couple sets of fan leaves. But in the mean time raise the light. And keep a fan blowing on it.

yeah i would think 81 degress is a lil to hot for new sproutlings try to get it down to 75 -77 and do u have a lil 10" or 8 " fan to blow on it maybe that do ti some good
