I wouldnt spray my plants with anything not even phed water or any nutrient. If your in soil for example 3 gallon pots. ph the tap water with what ever nutrients your using and water 1 gallon to every 3 gallons of soil. It acts as a flush every time. Leave the spraying alone. but if you want to spray them down I would at least ph the water your spraying with and make sure your spray bottle is new

dry is good. Misting/spraying, ESPECIALLY un-PHed tapwater is unnecessary at the least, and quite possibly, harmful at the worst.

don't listen to the rest of them, as much as thier comments are meant well they don't know about botany
,spraying you plants atleast once a month in veg will remove dust and dirt that clogs the stomata and slows growth
i used to spray my plants with tap water and they were fine HOWEVER my tap water ia around 6.5 and doesnt contain that much salt and i put it out for atleast 24 hours to de-chlorinate the water but check yours before you spray
and try not to spray in flowering, high humidity will increase the chances of bud mold and other mold ailments.
hope that helps

Would spraying help bring an underwatered overdry plant back or will simple watering work if not past the point of no return?

spraying would probably help along with watering id say, but the roots have to absorb water to rejuvenate the plant, spraying will probably just halt the leaves drying out for a while , while the plant soaks up some water

My girls seem to enjoy a good spray a couple times a month. Just a fine mist will do. There is also a foliar feeding thread i read a couple days ago that was interesting. Up to you
