A while back I got some regular Afghan seeds from the single seed center, the breeder was Spliff seed company out of the Netherlands.
Of 10 beans 9 of them popped, the seeds were all very small and light green. All of them were female, not surprising since I have shitty luck and needed just a single male for breeding...
According to their website it's the stable landrace variety, despite being supposedly being inbred for hundreds of years the phenotype variation was all over the place!
Some had very fat indica leaves while others had sativa leaning leaves, one plant had the hash smell I expected but the rest ranged from fruity to skunky and a couple were almost odorless.
Now I don't know where the genetics actually came from but my guess is a fucking hemp field in Nebraska rather than a hash plant field in Afghanistan! Half the plants had absolutely no visible trichomes after 50 days in flower, even when inspected with a jewelers loupe!
I got drunk a few days ago and ended up burning them all out of frustration and disappointment.
I grew their blueberry a while back and it was mediocre but this Afghan is seriously the worst shit I've ever seen. Never again
