SPIDERMITES!!!Help!!

DO NOT USE HOT SHOT PEST STRIP :) sorry skinnyone, but there are much safer alternatives to using those strips. They work because you are flooding your growroom with hazardous chemicals, and even if you were to use a chemical it should be something made for spidermites like...

but! these are all still chemicals, and in the same way that many people are now realizing how bad it can be in their foods, the same applies when you smoke it! For this reason, there are some very effective (more so than chemicals) and organic ways to take care of spidermites.

For your own knowledge though, spidermite nests are where the babies will hatch, in addition to laid so they are the hubs of destruction! SOOOOO, take a foliar bottle, add a tiny bit of garlic powder, and spray your plants down with it in addition to afterwards taking a Q-tip, and removing all the nests that you can. Every single one has to removed!!!!!!!

If you want some really effective killers though, ladybugs or predatory mites will wreak havock on the young spidermites and make sure your leaves are saved and the plants don't have to give up to much energy ;)

Also, there are some nice solutions that you can put in your resovoir which spidermites do not like and can be put into your foliar feeding bottle such as sm-90. If you are in the last weeks of your cycle though, i recommend only non chemical ways though as you might affect the taste of what your working with.

If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask!! :)

Hot shots does flood your room with chemicals. You are actually putting more chemicals in your plant by foliar sprays than with airborne chemicals. If you want the easiest way then its hot shots. It also depends on what stage of growth you are in. I agree there are plenty of safe non chemical alternatives...you can search RIU there are plenty of posts on here for spidermites and how to get rid of them. I have found the easiest is hot shots. hang it and forget it for a couple days and then back into a zip loc baggie. My last bout with the lil bastages I used hot shot for 3 days and a foliar spray of ph'd water and alcohol. mites were GONE. I am sure someone here will say never use alcohol as a foliar spray dont use chemicals ...etc...etc...etc... All I can tell you is this is what worked for me GOOD LUCK

Personally, I am a Fox Farms guy and tend to run with their "Don't Bug Me" spray. I've had good results, but with spider mites you will want to spray your plants, wait a couple of days and repeat. I usually apply once more just to be safe and haven't had any issues with any pest surviving this third blast.
Good luck!

When it comes to spider mites, I am all about wipe them off the face of the earth, wrath of god type action. In my battles, I have tried many home brewed concoctions, oils, lady bugs, predatory mites and even praying mantis'. They all had some effect. The best outcome I have had for the above is keeping the population in check. For me, this is NOT enough.

I found my nuclear weapon. Its facking napalm, anthrax, banned by the geneva convention type ish. This stuff can be used in flower, however, I personally do not.

Azatrol - two applications and they are gone. When it comes to spider mites, I dont mess around, I kill them until I dont see them anymore. When you gotta 100% sure that you wipe out every living mite on that plant...send the Azatrol.

mighty wash by NPK industries! safe to use at 1 year and 8 month of flower :P
you dug up an old one buddy! fuck I'm too stoned to do the math :/

Oh shit! Didn't even see the date. Some how it was on page 1 in hydro section. At least I thought it was lol. Long week. And can't blame it on anything. I'm sober.

I've had success with using a 1:1 ratio of water and rubbing alcohol sprayed all over the plant. be sure to completely soak the underside of all the infected plants leaves. the alcohol allows the solution to dry faster to prevent mold. spray every other day and be sure to turn your fans off while you do spray to protect your lights and electrical equipment
