Spider mites- green cleaner burn to almost harvest

hey folks,

So I started having these white dots on my leaves but didn’t see any mugs on the bottom. Honestly I thought it was my LED being to close and bleaching the leaves. It wasn’t until last week I saw it got worse and I looked under the leaves and saw some bugs. Two days ago I sprayed it with green cleaner while the lights were off. Today my leaves came out looking pretty rough. My crop is at Day 48 and I believe it has 2-3 more weeks left. Is it still salvageable?

Well you already know you've got a bad infestation. I read about Green Cleaner, I would recommend that you follow the directions exactly for best chance of saving the plant (and your going to wanna look up bud washing when you harvest too)

To tell you the truth Jim I've had mites twice back in the last century and I lost both whole Gardens to them. However there weren't as many products then and they weren't easily available in the eighties and nineties either, so maybe things would be different now but I am not the best one to tell you how to defeat mites cuz I haven't figured it out yet, just that nobody else was repling and so I took a look at the green cleans website to try to help you best manage this issue.

I would follow directions on the product exactly and where they say every 1-2 days, if the plant can stand it I would make it one day and wouldn't wait two days!

Initial drench………….. 2 oz per gallon – For Spider Mites & Their Eggs

2. Secondary application … 1 oz per gallon – Apply every 1-2 days

3.Weekly Maintenance …. 1/2 per gallon – Once or Twice a week

4.For Powdery mildew… 1/2 oz per gallon- Apply every 1-2 days

You're going to need to do a big cleanup of your area after harvest, use bleach or maybe they have something specific for mites now but get as strong as you can get, apply several times & days apart before starting your next plant because I shut down for months and cleaned and cleaned, but as soon as I started again they were right back again?! Best of luck!

Btw I highly suggest reading ALL the directions. So my girlfriend read all the directions and it seems that I skipped the part about trying lower leaves to see how they react. Or just use it on a different plant... yeah, didn’t do that.

Hey thanks dude! I definitely will do a huge clean up. Here’s the deal. I have a shit ton of houseplants, will that effect me in a negative way? I haven’t had any infestations on any of my other plants.

Yeah I’m definitely going to wash them. Thanks for your help again

Mine probably came in on my dog however you could have a small Colony on any or several of your house plants and they may be very resistant and not showing it

however when they hit a plant with very little resistance like cannabis ..well you see the results so that's definitely a concern , you might want to treat everything for best results ? I certainly would, they're very hard to eradicate sorry to tell you but they really are

Yeah I have heard the same thing, that they are harder to eradicate. I’ll give all me plants a spray and as well i’ll be growing companion crops: Anaheim peppers and dill. I’ll be moving in a larger place in 9 months so I’m hoping to have a second room dedicated to the hobby. It’ll be an office as well but it’d be nice to have that. Thanks again for all your help. I’ll be around, if you have a sec you should check out my grow journal. Life throws curveballs just gotta learn to hit em.

Sure where do I find the link to the GrowJournal ? When you move just be really careful what you bring, because I thought I got rid of these little bastards, I sprayed and bleached, bleached and sprayed and I left the room shut off in the sweltering summer heat for three or four months, but as soon as I started up the little bastards were right back!!!
