Spider farmer sf1000d dimmer question

Yes, they can all have their own needs. The 4 I am running now are 2 Shiva Skunk and 2 Maui Waui. Both a first for me. Ran into an issue with the light and it turned out I was under feeding them. Started getting yellow tips on one of them but it is under control now. I am accustomed to feeding 50% of what GH trio feeding schedule states, now I am feeding them more than the max on the feed chart but they seem happy. So it appears this light really does make the plants eat more. Here is a pic from yesterday.

Looking good! I used the gh flora trio but the strain I was running was having issues with it. I started using Lucas formula and they straightened right out.:bigjoint:

I emailed SF a while ago about this. The SF1000d is meant as a beginner model. 301d diodes, non Meanwell driver and no dimming option. On the bright side (so to speak) it is only 100 watt light so really not much need for a dimmer. In Canada they are $149 for D model and $220 for regular. To be honest I doubt dimming such a low power light will have much advantage too it anyway. The bigger ones sure. My HLG is vegging plants right now at 50% so 300 actual watts, it would take 3 of these running at full power to match it so I cannot see much use for the dimmer function on this particular light anyway.
How would this be considered a beginner model anyways? Shouldn't it have a dimmer then to make light adjustments easier? :wall::p

LOL, I cannot see any use in a dimmer on such a low power light, why would anyone want to bring a light down to less than 100 watts? Anyway I did not label it as a beginner model, SF did. Here is what they said to me.

"210 pcs Samsung diodes, power draw is Power draw:101.1W±5%@AC120V 99.54W±5%@AC240V 95.8W±5%@AC277V , Par value is Par Value:220.86umol/S@110V
Specially for begineers. "

Just look at it as what it is. The SF1000d is a budget model. Most companies have them.

For instance

Chevy has the Colorado the budget option to the Silverado.

Sleep number has the c2. The budget model to the rest of the mattresses.

Its simply a lower priced option to 1 get people into the market or 2 to draw them to the site to see better offerings.

Its simple business

look man...I get all that. I just wish I would've known it had the lm301d diode. No big deal really though. It's cheap. I got it and I'll see how it does.

Lm301d, Lm301b, h.. z...
My thinking these days are this:
If it’s pushing 100+ true watts and
It’s bright... it’s growing.
Imo it’s a better light than the one with the dimmer. Because of price.

Glad i bought sf1000 early on
use for seedlings, i set it at 65-70 watts they love it
if you only use for bloom with another light
dimming isnt a big deal
if you use it for all stages dimable is prefered but
can always be hung higher just a waste of electricity.

seems like they went backwards im sure the new one is
less expensive.....

Spider farmer sf1000d Affordable light 96-96.5 watts and stays there i pair up with the ViparSpectra vs1000 I have to say ViparSpectra at least 30% brighter at full power but I’m not complaining I don’t care about the dimmer it’s going to be full blast anyway in my flower tent didn’t find to much info on the driver on sf1000d so I raise it up about 3 inches from the board just in case
