You got plenty of space bro it's all about what you wanna do, you could do a sea of green and put 30 plants in there, or if you have time to veg you could fill that space with just 4 plants. You have 4 weeks left to veg so that's about right to fill out your space with the 9 you got.

So what is too short of veg time ? I'm bout to clone critical kush but only have a 4x4 veg and 4x8 flower. I've got 12 that are 6 weeks old but they are looking like they might end up too big. Would 4 weeks of veg be a mistake? When I say they are 6 weeks old that's from original day of clone, running 3gal pots full of coco perlite mix .

Some people go 12/12 right from seed. Are they 6 weeks from when you first took the clippings or 6 weeks after they first showed roots? Got any pics?

5x7 = 35 sqft If you wanna light the whole area you wanna add another light. A single 1000 watter is good for a 4x4 area, little more in veg. Some reflectors cast a rectangular pattern, that would be ideal for you so you could cover say 5 wide by 3.5 and with two of those you would get the best coverage.

So you try to get 60 watts per sq ft. Eh. So that means I'm only getting 37.5 with my 600, could explain my low yields. What would you suggest I add in a 4×4 tent to go along with my 600mh/hps? It gets pretty toasty in there as it is. Dont woŕry I'm not jacking my buddies thread I want him to get more involved with the replies, or at least be able to read some good material.

Definitely the yield problem. At least 50 watts per sqft in flower. I think mine is like 62.5. To boost the lighting in your tent perhaps some quantum boards? Really the simple solution is a 1kW HPS but it's gonna make more heat. I setup my buddies 4x8 tent with two of my old 1000 watt SE lumatek lights, he has pulled several harvests out of there that were well over 4 pounds. When I ran SoG in 4x8 trays I would put a 1kW SE HPS over each 4x4 area and was getting a gram per watt easy. That can be done just with ambient CO2 levels.

Wow big news Renfro thanks a bunch, @Mattthebs420 maybe I'll borrow your 1000w this winter where it will be cooler, then I'll just have to use my 600 in summer or get my own and get a bigger in-line

Just remember, dim that puppy over the last two weeks. Doing that and dropping temps as well will make for amazing density and incredible yields. If you leave it cranked you will get foxtailing and fluffy buds regardless of how cool you can keep it in there. I like to dim mine incrementally, like a notch every other day for a week and fully dimmed for the last week. Dropping the temps a little each time the lights are dimmed, aiming for around 72 degrees the last week. I drop my CO2 from 1200 PPM to 600 incrementally.

With CO2 at 1200 PPM I will have canopy temps at 88 - 90 until the dimming starts, if I was running ambient CO2 levels of 400 PPM I would try and keep the temps in the low 80's, like 80 - 82. I bring it down to the low 70's by the time the lights are fully dimmed out.

Here's a few day old picture. 6 weeks from the day they were clipped. More like 4 n half 5 from root
They look great, how many you got? I put 6 in my 4×4 tent when they're a little bigger than what you got there I flip, I give mine 5 weeks veg so you could probably go another week, assuming you have 7 feet of height and are using HIDs.

I'm allowed 12 between my wife and I so I took 12 cuts. I've got another thread going asking if the 12 might be too much for my 4x8 tent at this size. I've got a California 550 solar system, 2 vipar 450s and a mars hydro 900 in the flower tent currently. I'm still new to growing and trying to decide which is more bang for the buck, as in veg less plants longer or more plants less veg. Currently Allowed 12 veg and 12 flower. This summer heat in my area is kicking my butt at the moment. Running coco, c02 bags and right now it's not rare to get up to 85 degrees roughly 35 to 50% humidity (drop daily after water) I've noticed a little leaf curl down at the tips of my flower girls. Lots of work busy busy!! Below we have a pic of my current flower and the clones. Think I'm gonna trim the babies and make new clones before I flip, which leads me to ask what is too late to clone after the flip to flower ?
