Whats up Weed Nerds? The wood stove is cooking, the beans are popped, and my medicine jars are empty. Time to grow some Dank! just popped are Space Dawg 5/5, and The Void 2/2. I've got a 5 pack of Querkle as well that i'm gonna pop once i can determine how many ladies i'm working with out of the current 7 seeds. I'm gonna flower 4 at a time in 10 gallon smart pots, Mainlined (thanks Nugs) in my 4x4 tent under 1k, but i'll veg them for a while under my LED while they're seedlings, and then the 600 once they outgrow their space under the LED. I wish i had scraped up the funds to make a batch of Super Soil, but i recently had to buy a truck, so i'll be concocting an organic mix of my own ( currently in the process of creating the mix). It will be a 2 month veg and i will be supplementing with organic amendments although I haven't decided what products or amendments I'll be using yet. Although this sounds like its being half assed at the moment, I can assure you that it won't. Lurk, drop a line, do whatever, just bring a positive attitude and good vibes. I plan on learning a shitload, so hopefully you will too! Thanks for stopping by. :joint: Farmer

well they're in soil, just waiting for them to break the surface. 4 are in 2 gallon or so square white pots and 3 are in shorter (1.5 gal or so) black pots. Transplanted into straight pro-mix. I wanted to experiment starting in larger pots (rather than the usual 1 gallons) to see if the extra depth for the taproot to grow would make a difference. Although i know transplanting them into their final 10 gal. pots wont be as pretty as just popping out a nice 1 gallon root ball. I have them under the 90 watt UFO for now on 24hrs.temps are 70-73ºF.

Not even 48 hours after the germinated seeds( germed using the wet paper towel method) went into the promix, 6/7 popped the surface. all but 1 of the voids. tooks some quick pics.

Thanks guys! one of the spacedawgs still refuses to lose its shell, but i"ll let it come off on its own so it doesn't mess her up. One of the voids( first to pop the soil) is already showing what looks like resin on its first set of leaves. I hope this is a good sign of things to come, so i'll be keeping a particular eye on that one. I'll try to get some close ups of her at some point.

Sometimes if it goes way long I help them out. I'm not sure if it qualifies as a guilty pleasure but it works...

yeah if its not off by lunch time tomorrow, I'll help it off. might give her a spray with the water to see if it will soften the shell casing.

Ive had a few just not be able to get through the shell. So if they are really behind the others ill help them out as gently as possible. Usually I get a razor blade and use one of the sharp corners to just barely catch the seed casing where ever there is a small little gap for you to get to. Just take it slow, dont rush.

i hit them with the spray bottle earlier today on my lunch break, and came home and the casing came off, so shes all good. i lowered the led to about a foot above them, but i have to make a riser for the two shorter black pots to sit up on. Man, i hate working with mismatching pots, but u gotta work with what u got. no way am i mismatching my final smart pots though. i"ll post some pics later on

I gently dug a couple of the spacedawgs out to plant them a bit deeper in the soil because they were stretching a bit, but they seemed to not mind it. pictures 1+5 you can kinda see what looks like resin development on a spacedawg, its the only seedling with it. One of the voids is already distinctly more sativa than the rest, so i'm guessing its apollo dom. My house is pretty dry, but i keep the plants well misted a couple times a day. I don't know why the camera makes them seem a bit yellow, but they really aren't.

I hope everyone is having a dank holiday season thus far. I've been super busy @ work lately, but i got the chance to snap a few photos before bed. Everything is going well, and I hit them with a super low dose of GO bio grow and cal mag (< 1tsp/GAL). I basically got antsy because two of the main stalks on the SD's were looking a bit red, but i should've waited cause a few of the very tips on the oldest leaves had a couple small brown blotches :dunce:. I'll wait til they ask for it next feeding. I'm liking the stocky nature of the spacedawgs already.

hey guys, sorry for the delay. Holidays were a shit show, and now i'm sick as fuck. I've been working 45 hours a week and now the plant are showing magnesium deficiency. i added dolomite lime and gave them a good hard watering because i fed the time before that and although i fed very lightly, i let them dry out a bit and I thought it could be a salt buildup. the ph of my water was testing around 5.8-6.0, but i havent tested my runoff cause im not using trays, and i was pretty sure the lime would fix the issue. its progressing and my leaf fringes are curling. I'm going to let them dry out then add some more lime and epsom salt to the soil as well as a weak dose of GO biothrive. everything has been topped above the second set of true branches, so I'll take the bottos 4 as clones once they grow out. I'm gonna get the 600 going pretty soon as well.
