Southern ontario climate and questions

Hello everyone. I currently grow inside but have been given a wonderful opportunity to use land outside for a medical grow.
I plan on using 100 xl autopots all 6 feet on center.
My real question is about a greenhouse.i really dont want to use one. Permits and building the thing would be very expensive.
Does anyone see a problem with throwing 100 plants in the farm field with no protection from the elements? Is this just a waste of my time and money without a green house?

100 plants? Wide open? You'd never catch me... if you have a license to grow, then it could work. Need to have the right strain, and good field drainage. It will do great, if the proper strain. Want it to end before risk of frost... I'm in southern Ontario, and without protection, sept end time is my goal. Temp so cold come oct, the growth gets to be painful, and rot sets in.

It can be done! I would never do that with so little control, but hey, it would be cool to see!!

I think it is very doable. Do your research and pick "very" early maturing varieties and find a way to keep them from being seen from the road . . . Or a lot of them are going to be stolen. You are realizing that this is going to be a full time job right?!?!

I have my license so its perfectly legal and it's far into farm property so no worries about it being stolen. Currently using autopots and they make any number of plants a breeze. I'm not concerned about labour cost or theft. I have a good 8 week flowering strain too. I'm really more concerned about terenchal down pours. I would hate to see a heavy rain murder my crop

Yeah, the risk is similar as with other crops. Storms can definitely hurt. Hail, high winds... it is all a risk most definitely. I've lost plant due to rain and storms many times. You have numbers on your side, so you get a good harvest, but anticipate losing some...

Head out with a leaf blower after any rain and just walk through blowing them off

What about those hoops structures wrapped in poly tarp? They dont need permits because they are temporary. Just set it up so the wind flows through? Is there enough light penetration?

Make sure you 8 week plant starts flowering early outdoors, 8 weeks doesn't mean much if it doesn't go into flower early enough to finish.

It's all about when they start flowering for outdoors. Very few indoor strains start early enough to finish in time in northern latitudes, have to search out something that was made with outdoor in mind.

Good luck!
