Hello All,

Ok so I've been plotting to grow for a few months now and I finally started last Monday. I got a Jiffy's tray from Wal-Mart and planted quite a few of the seeds that I saved from all the bag that I had (usually smoke mid grade).

Before then I soaked the seeds in water so that they could be fresh and crack.

It is a week later and a few have sprouted quite well i assume. They've shot up pretty high so I also assume they're on the sativa side, maybe a hybrid. IDK we'll see. I know as they get bigger I'll have to transplant them into a bigger space, so I'm in the process of constructing a DWC system. Everything that I couldn't get in the stores should be here by the end of the week.

So, just for a moment, if you could please view the pics of my sproutlings and tell me what you think, what I may need to do if you think I'm doing something wrong, etc.

Also, for my system I am using an 18 gallon reservoir. I Bout 5" net pots and most likely will be going with hydroton as a growing medium( messy and time consuming I've heard but could have great benefits). how many gallons of h20 should I actually put in as I assume to not cover the net pots and damage the roots?

Thanx :eyesmoke:

rule #1 -----HAVE PATIENCE.
rule#2------see #1

they look fine, get the light closer so they get all they need. take the outer shell off or wait for it to fall off.

hey bro wats up, go ahead and take the seed casing off of those seedlings. they need light. also wat kinda lights are you using? Its seems that your plants are streching for the light, which is not good so how far away is your light? what kinda nutes do you plan on using?

your light is too far away from them, thats why they are stretching and are taller, shouldnt be a problem, but lower your light, they look good

Thank you both. I have a 120 watt STG/CVG bulb in there. I put up some reflector material adjacent to the plants so they receive more light. For the purposes of taking the photos I adjusted the camera retinas so it looks darker. Still, I know i need to invest in some more lighting.

As far as nutrients go, I ordered the FloraGro, FloraBloom. FloraMicro pint sets. they'll be here along with the rest of my order by the end of the week. Any suggestions on what to use until then?

Yeah, speaking of roots, I had a serious fail.
Long story short they fell and were damaged.
Well fatally. I have to start all over again.
PAINFUL.
