Ahhh, Randy. We grew up in small town Burbank, Ca.The original shapes were too controversial...
together and good buds since Junior High although Randy went to John Muir Junior High and I was at
David Starr Jordan Junior High. Randy went to Burbank High and I was at Burroughs High in Burbank but we
clicked anyhow as we both played guitar. I started playin' in 5th grade and my 1st guitar was a Yamaha Acoustic.
Randy's brother Kelly was a cool dude. He had a band called "Rhoads" back in the day.
I have some original insane shredding guitar pics of Randy I took that I'd like to post one day. My other best friend Johnny Anderson was taking
bass lessons from Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot) back then. I have pics with Rudy back then as well. My other best friend Nick Loft from grade school and up was Randy's only personal band photographer starting in Junior High up until Randy's passing. Took tons of pics back then and then when Randy passed Nick went on to join the famous L.A. rock station back it the day KMET. He brought all the import metal to the station and was know as Sick Nick. When KMET went down Nick joined Atlantic Records as an A&R Rep. Sorry for the long read but the pic you posted brought back
memories with Randy. Got some awesome stories to share about Randy and I but I will save them for when the time is right. Thought I'd throw this out there.
