You do realize there is a plateau effect on the amount of light you give your plants, after a certain threshold the plants just don't grow faster or larger. Here's a little info using lux.

Light Requirements of "High Energy" Plants
1000 - 5000 lux Min. necessary for life
10000 - 15000 lux Min. necessary for consistent but sparse growth
20000 - 25000 lux Min. necessary for robust growth
25000 - 30000 lux Max. Efficiency for Sub Tropical varieties
25000 - 50000 lux Max. Efficiency for Equatorial varieties
Plants need 25000-50000 lux too grow fast.

90000 lux Max. Sunlight Intensity on Earth's surface This is too much light, it is not good for the plant.
Plants subject to intensities at this level or greater are at risk of "solarization," whereby photosynthesis is retarded. This can happen at noon on a clear Tropical summer day, especially at high altitudes.

140000 lux Sunlight above atmosphere (Solar Constant)
Alright.. Well each led is around 77307 lux so that argument is invalid. And they are spaced out so I'm not sure what you're trying to get at here.

So thats great with that kind of par output, but is that with your 4 cobs or 5? I wonder what the best setup would be for a 4x8 area. The video that Mau5 put out last year had like 32 cobs on bars. The harvest video was like 4 big ones.

Also is there a huge markup for the equipment offered on that 5 up kit? I just wonder if it is significantly more cash to buy like 4 kits vs buying all the needed materials separately.

That's with 4 so 1 cob per 15inches. So a bit over a foot. That's how growmau5 does it, one cob center d per sq ft. You would need 16 cobs ran at 1050mA to get his grow space for a 4x4... For a 4x8 just double the cobs required to 32 and done.

For me I can run them a bit harder to get me roi faster, long term when cash upfront isn't an option I'll be going to the 700mA area and maybe 2 cobs per sqft. But that's for a later time.

I honestly didn't compare the kits but I didn't need that specific driver so that's the only reason I opted to buy my own parts.

I'll be adding some GG#4 in here soon.. Lights are killer and any recommendation as to the light height? 800W I'm not sure how close I can get them.

The DE HPS is more than double the heat and what seems to be half the light but that's just from what my eyes perceive.

not super sure on the standard HPS as that might be 2 4x4s we will see.

So here it is with some Girlscout cookies and Pineapple Express. I'll have GG#4 some time this week and that will be in the empty pot. I'm only running 2 bars of cobs since the HVAC isn't in yet and I'm waiting on a fan.
