I used to be in a gang, its in part alot of pent up agression from being poor, I and no one I know ever killed someone.
Not from lack of trying mind you, we carried weapons and I once hospitalized a guy and put him on a breathing machine.
we lived in a total ghetto back then though, it was just all about the hustle, defending our street and such, for all the good and bad now that we are all out of that ghetto and doing reasonably well we look back on that time as one of the best.
sure its dangerous as hell and we thought we wouldnt live as long as we have, but we used to do so much crazy stuff, pure anarchy, and we had plenty of girls.
I was the first one to leave the gang, not on good terms mind you as I was the 2nd (small gang 16 guys one street) and having troubles with the leader who had been my best friend since we were 5 and shit since he had sex with my girlfriend at the time, I said fuck him and the gang, and just left and left the ghetto, went to stay with some family, anyway the gang disbanded and all left, leaders in australia, and we are on good terms thanks to his sister.
When your poor and you get fucked with a gang becomes your family and your shelter, I ended up living in the ganghouse for a year or so, and going through all that all I can say is gang lifestyle is bullshit, brotherhood is bullshit.
by leaving the gang I was the catalyst for it splitting apart, and now we all have good normal lives far away from that.
