Hello RIU, its been a while! First off i want to inform you all that im about to go on a rant about religion. So if you dont care to read about what i have to say (for whatever reason that may be, is irrelevant) you have been informed.

Now to start this off I would like to say I dont believe in religion, nor am i an atheist. (But co0okie, how can that be?) I personally dont believe in god/s or heaven, hell, ect. (isnt that atheist co0okie?) I also dont believe they are wrong. (now hold on a minute, your logic seems flawed) What im saying is, how am i to say what is, and what isnt?

My main problem with religion is all the people separating themselves just because of their own beliefs. In other words, they dont accept anyone elses opinion. (i know not every religious person is like this. I know very many religious people that are not judgmental and will accept your opinion/belief even though they dont believe it be true) However there are so many people, Atheist and Religious, that have "intelligent discussions" about each other when they have no way of proving the intelligent! Albert Einstein, brilliant man, had to think logical to understand science. This caused his logical conscious to be Atheist, however he was born a Jew. How can one be Jewish and Atheist? Whose to say Albert is right? Yet again, whose to say hes wrong? Thats my point people. Albert once asked "Do you believe the moon is still there when no one is looking?" his colleague replied simply "Can you prove to me that it isn't?" Such a simple yet perfect response. Can you prove to me that heaven, hell, god/s exist? Can you prove me they don't? So why claim to be right when you have no claim at all?

Another Einstein story (http://asvelaascanbe.blogspot.com/2005/12/conversation-between-teacher-and.html), one you probably all know, talks about faith. But can you explain to me how faith isnt just an opinion? Can you explain how it is? (yes another huge debate)

Opinion - a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty.

Faith -
belief that is not based on proof.

Now do i believe religion (including atheists) is wrong? No, I nor you can say it is wrong.
Do i believe religion right? No, I nor you can prove that religious beliefs are in fact true.

So why do others claim that those who dont believe in their beliefs are wrong? Until everyone can accept each other for their own beliefs/opinions, religion will just be incomplete to me. Couldn't religion become one understanding? Im sure all of you know that answer, so let me ask this, what would the world be like without religion?

Sometimes i wonder what the world would be like without religion.

personally i dont believe in any religion but i do think it serves a good purpose (although i wish people would stop trying to push it on me...). people need something to be afraid of, if not people would have no self control or respect for much. people would run around doing what they wanted, killing people, etc. i think much of peoples morals would be lost without having fear that you'll "go to hell" or what ever it may be if you were to do something "wrong".

lol btw, i find the christian religion humorous. i can always back a christian believer into the same corner and they will always tell me the same thing...."you just gotta believe".

show me proof and ill believe

I can not think of a single thing a true christian would (or wouldn't) do that would make your world a worse place.

Also there are parts of the world where multi deiistic religions are practiced.
In the US you are however limited to exposure to religions with single gods.

It is for me easy to believe in the creator as I see him everywhere from the most mundane stone to the latest science.
A christian doesn't fear hell, he fears God. And you'd have to admit that if a creator existed one would be well within reason to fear such power.

IF one existed yes but its still yet to be proven. but we DO have science to show how we evolved

I don't find anything in the bible that says there could not have been evolution...

if you need proof whats the use of faith. fuck religion, belief is all that is needed. constantly i freak out over what god is telling me to do. but i keep doing it and then the next thing i know something shows up and confirms what he told me. you live a better life in the long run by listening. dont lean on your own understanding, something im still learning. you'll think your going insane but its all for a better

all that matters is love and light

you can see light, so it is real. When it is dark you are lost, you need light to live

love is real, you can feel it, without it you're also lost. thats what keeps us together.

thats all religions need to teach and preach. FTR

when one submits to religion, you must think why. its because of weakness. they cant take the facts of life, they have to make it a fairy tale with magic and resurrection. its all a gimmick, they want power and money. looks what the cathoics have done for the last thousand years. its all about mind control, those who do submit are victim to this mind control.

That is already proven false...
Its just selective blindness. People want to believe what they want, and choose to disbelieve everything else. Currently, the scientific community has no proof, only theories, about the origins of Man. Yet, its taught de facto that we came from evolution. One one side, are those who believe all species existed at one time and subtle differences made the rest die off (darwinian) and on the other, are people who believe we came from slugs and grew legs and a brain. Well, we have genes that are found in no other species on earth, proving we didn't come from a slug. Science has also proven that the human genome has not changed in over a million years. That doesn't prove we were here a million years ago.

To me, it seems even more logical that we were created, by genetically altering the most advanced primate on the planet (the caveman). It explains the "missing link" and explains why our DNA is so different from that of the caveman. It only means that we would also have to believe in a superior life form, who is able to alter our DNA. Seems plausible. And also fits within what we currently understand about our own DNA. People who try to argue this end up disbelieving everything from science and/or religion. Open your minds for a change, and begin to consider other possibilities. You don't have to accept something to consider it.
