I am in week 3 of flower with some chem4 OG beauties. I have them under 1000 watt hps light on a 12/12 cycle. They are in foxfarm soil. The temp is maintained at 75 degrees and humidity between 50-60%. I am feeding them "X Nutrients" and have fed them twice now with plain RO water in between each feeding. I am following their "advanced program" feeding schedule which can be found here: https://www.xnutrients.com/feeding_schedule.pdf

I noticed this problem only on a few of the fan leaves, not all the plants seem to be having the same issue. I have carefully examined the underside of the leaves to check for pests with a 30X magnifier and there are none present. Please check out the attached picture and let me know what it could be. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure its nutrient burn but this is only my second grow so I'm not 100% sure. If it is nutrient burn, what should I do to remedy the problem? Skip a feeding? Feed again but feed less? Do I need to flush? etc..

That doesnt look like nutrient burn. Why are you pretty sure that is the problem?

It looks like calcium def, which makes sense since you are using RO water in between feedings.

I agree with MYOB that it looks like a calcium defiency. Add some calmag to your feed water which I would recommend using anyway. Peace

I would have to say that these guys are on the right track and that calmag should help stop your problem.

Are you noticing any leaves getting lighter in colour from the outer edge inwards?

Or is it spots like the pics?

Paler leaves from outer edge inwards - magnesium

Red spots - calcium.

some leaves have spots like in the picture I posted and some are just slightly paler in kind of a blotchy pattern, but it sounds like you guys are right with the calmag. I just assumed it was nute burn because I am using this new line of nutes and i didnt do too good of a job easing them into it. Ill drop by my local hydro shop and pic up some calmag and see how that helps. Thanks again guys, I love this website lol

I use a dose of calmag (per their specs on the bottle) with each reservoir refill, which is usually once a week for me. It works great and I've not had this type of problem since. I think MY last problem may have actually been nute burn, in which case flushing with fresh water every day for a few days seemed to do the trick. Then I started the girls back in at 1/4 and upped it every few days to about 3/4 and they're doing great. (this may not be germane to your actual problem but maybe it'll help in the future. Gotta pass on what ROI has provided!)

Good luck with your girls!

One more quick question, I just picked up some calmag, I'm not due to water or feed for another day or two...is it okay to wait that long before I give them some calmag? or should i mix some up and give them some now?

@ jondamon......Would having separate Mag and Cal nutes be the best way to go?
IMO yes.

I use Mono Ca and mono Mg.

Too much of one can cause it to look like a deficiency of the other.

Too much Mg - looks like Ca def.

Too much Ca - looks like Mg def.

Every so often I mix up a 1ml per litre of each Ca and Mg into my normal watering amount 18L which on its own gives an EC of 1.5. They get a watering as normal with these 2 only. But I use coco without using coco specific nutes.

I've also found that most plants can handle around 3 weeks of full strength PK1314 if you elevate levels of Mg and Ca.

Normally in my nute mix I use 6ml of each into 18L of water and then mix my base to my desired EC.

IMO you should mix up a 1/2 recommended dosage and give all plants a drink of it.
