Something seems to be crawling inside my leafs...

I started recently giving my plant home-made doses of well boiled tobacco pesticide (as to kill TMV) with some garlic added for a punch. It worked wonders against green little mites, it totally dissapeared them.

However on close examination of my plants while dusting them I noticed this on some leaves:

EDIT: I had TOTALLY overlooked Grizzly's guide for pests and now I recognized this little buggers as leaf miners.

I removed all affected leaves; however, in absense of neem oil, what can I use to protect my plants against this things?

cooking oil would work. Anything thick that would coat the leaves and suffocate the bastards. Just spray it on or rub it or some shit. I would give it a good rinse in the shower though after a couple days.

thats what i used but i mixed it with water, tobacco, garlic, and habeneros and it crushed my spider mite problem.
